MIFP DEVELOPMENT RELEASES SCREENSAVOR v.1.0 FOR THE MACINTOSH

MIFP Development has begun shipping ScreenSavor, a new screen saver program
that serially displays high-quality full-color photographs. The program is
unique for its large library of outstanding photographs, clever use of
display effects, high degree of controllability, and incorporation of
Apple's QuickTime compression/decompression technology. MIFP's software
functions as an add-on accessory to the best-selling utility After Dark,
by Berkeley Systems, Inc.

The Images

Most screen savers function by displaying a changing pattern of screen
"art", such as colored patterns, animated cartoons, or printed messages.
ScreenSavor is the first commercial program to use collections of
high-quality photographs to preserve monitor screens. Each application
package comes with a Sampler Image Set of twelve photos. MIFP's
additional add-on collections of photographs are assembled into image sets
of subject themes, such as wild animals and birds, underwater images of
fish and coral reefs, aircraft, scenic vistas, and butterflies.
ScreenSavor images have been exclusively licensed from many world-renowned
artists. Over a dozen different image sets are currently available.
Examples include:

"On the Wild Side", Sets #1 and #2 - Art Wolfe. Art Wolfe is one of the
best known wild animal photographers in the world. He has numerous books
and exhibitions to his credit, and these sets feature birds and animals
from throughout the world.

"Within a Rainbowed Sea", Set #1 - Chris Newbert. ScreenSavor has begun to
serialize Chris Newbert's award winning book of underwater photography,
"Within a Rainbowed Sea". This publication has won numerous awards, and
has been selected as a U.S. Presidential Gift of State.

"Check 6", Set #1 - George Hall. George Hall is a well known photographer
of military and commercial jet aircraft and aerospace vehicles. This
image set is an introductory collection to some of his finest photos.

"Ghosts", Set #1 - Philip Makanna. Philip Makanna has made a career of
photographing the few hundred remaining aircraft of the World War II era.
His pictures are artistic, colorful, and are collected on-location from
skies around the world.

"Western Images" - Ray Atkeson and Rick Schafer. Ray Atkeson had
photographic career which spanned sixty years, and culminated in his being
named Oregon's first photographer laureate. His best and most famous work
centered around the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and is now
being continued by his stepson and protege, Rick Schafer.

Partial list of other titles:

Patterns and Vistas - Steve Terrill (Colorful patterns and landscapes)
Furry Friends - Kathi Lamm (Puppies and dogs) Flash! - Andrew Davidhazy
(High-speed and scientific photography) People at Work - Ned Westover
(People and occupations from around the world) Butterflies - Thomas C.
Emmel (Butterflies from around the world) Out on the Range - Kathi Lamm
(Cowboys, horses, and Western scenery)

More images are being added continuously, and a new series of NASA photos
will be added in September.

Program Features

MIFP's program easily surpasses the simple display capabilities of After
Dark's "Slide Show" module with its large collection of user-contollable
"display effects". Either one or four images may be displayed on the
screen simultaneously; photos are changed by setting an agenda of one or
more display effect methods. Display effect techniques include Dissolve,
Pix-By-Pixel, Zoom, Color-By-Number, Push-'N-Shove, Snow, and more. The
images to be shown, order of display, speed of display, hold time, and
replacement method are all completely controllable. The program is
completely Macintosh compatible, and follows all Macintosh interface
guidelines.

Hardware/Software Requirements

ScreenSavor will run on any color-capable Macintosh computer, including LC,
Quadra, and all II-series platforms. It supports 4, 8, 16, and 24-bit
color video, and will also run on 8-bit monochrome monitors. The program
requires a hard disk and approximately 1 MB of free RAM to run, and 4 MB
of installed RAM is recommended. Because ScreenSavor uses QuickTime's
JPEG compression/decomopression capability, only about 750 KB of hard disk
space is required for each image set installed. QuickTime is included
with the program. After Dark, by Berkeley Systems, Inc., is also
required.

Pricing and Availability

The ScreenSavor program with QuickTime and a Starter Set of twelve images
has a suggested retail price of $49.95. Additional image sets are sold
separately, and carry a suggested retail price of $39.95. To purchase the
