DV Ships New Mac Frame Grabber

Digital Vision is pleased to announce the long-awaited SCSI frame grabber
for the Apple Macintosh. With a fast 1/30th of a second, 16.7 million
color frame grab, ComputerEyes/RT's image quality is sure to please even
the most discerning eye.

After months of development and testing, ComputerEyes/RT for the Macintosh
is finally here. ComputerEyes/RT lets you capture high-quality 24-bit
color images into your Macintosh from any standard video source - VCR,
camcorder, laser disk, or still video camera. Instantaneous (1/30th
second) image frame grab allows capturing even fast moving subjects from
TV broadcasts, video tape, or live camera action. Use ComputerEyes/RT in
hundreds of applications, including animation and paint programs, Quick
Time applications, image databases, desktop publishing, and graphic arts.

Because ComputerEyes/RT is a SCSI device, it has great flexibility.
Traditionally, frame grabbers have been designed for NuBus Macintosh
computers only. As a SCSI device, ComputerEyes/RT will work with every
Macintosh model from the Macintosh LC to the Macintosh Quadra 950. Users
can share the easily transportable ComputerEyes/RT between Macintosh
computers in a computer lab, for instance, without having to open a case.

Best of all, ComputerEyes/RT is priced at a low $599.95.

ComputerEyes/RT features a 1/30th of a second capture time and 640 by 480
capture resolution at up to 24 bits per pixel. The new ComputerEyes/RT has
two video inputs for both NTSC composite video and S-video. Captured
images may be saved to MacPaint, TIFF, PICT, PICT2 files. ComputerEyes/RT
is designed for use with any Macintosh computer with 2 Megabytes RAM
running System 6.0.7 or higher. (Running ComputerEyes with System 7
requires at least 2.5 Megabytes.)

ComputerEyes/RT is now shipping in limited quantities. Production of the
new product should increase by the end of August. Software version 1.0,
shipping with ComputerEyes now, supports only still image capture formats
and only color Macintosh computers. A free upgrade to version 2.0 will be
available at the end of the year that will save QuickTime compatible files
and will allow you to capture on black and white Macs. The upgrade will
automatically ship to registered owners of ComputerEyes/RT and will be
available for download on AppleLink, CompuServe, America On-Line, and
Digital Vision's local BBS.
