CAMARILLO, CA--Advanced Matrix Technology, Inc (AMT) has begun shipping the
AMT Accel-244 Personal Plotter, the latest addition to its Intelli-Plot
line of printer/plotters. For years, AMT has been selling high-resolution
dot-matrix printer/plotters to the CAD market. Now AMT is offering a
printer/plotter with many of the features of the larger, more expensive
Intelli-Plot models for under $1,000. The Personal Plotter is a 24-wire
monochrome dot-matrix printer/plotter that supports A- through C-size
media. Like other Intelli-Plot models, the plotting quality of the
Personal Plotter rivals the quality achieved on large, expensive pen and
electrostatic plotters, with the convenience of desktop use in the home or
office.

The AMT Accel-244 Personal Plotter has internal Hewlett-Packard Graphics
Language 2 (HP-GL/2) and AutoCADX Device Interface (ADI) processors, which
make it plug-and-play with all the most popular CAD software packages. The
ADI processor is especially desirable for AutoCAD users since data
transmission is ten times faster than with conventional plotters.

The Personal Plotter has many other features that are not available on
conventional plotters--the most notable being AMT's patented Select-dial.
With the Select-dial, users can select from a variety of plot qualities
and speeds; automatically scale and rotate drawings; position drawings on
the page; assign line weights; save up to five plotter setups; control an
internal queue that holds up to 20 drawings; and perform many other
functions.

"On the Personal Plotter, we've used a printhead with 8-mil wires instead
of 12-mil wires," said Greg Larson, AMT's Intelli-Plot Product Manager.
"This finer wire produces drawings of exceptional smoothness and clarity.
All of the standard line weights used in the architectural and design
industries are supported."

Although the Personal Plotter is compact, it easily handles media up to 17"
x 22" (C-size). The Personal Plotter can plot on many types of media,
including vellum, Mylar and a wide range of drafting paper. It contains a
built-in forms tractor for continuous-feed paper and AMT offers automatic
sheet- and roll-feed options.

"We believe that shared-resource plotters are not convenient for most
engineers and designers, " said David Beardsley, AMT's Vice-President of
Sales. "Now that we are offering the Personal Plotter for less than
$1,000, anyone who wants their own personal plotter can easily afford
one."

The AMT Accel-244 Personal Plotter is available at a suggested retail price
of $995. It comes with a one-year warranty and toll-free technical
support. For more information, please contact AMT Sales at (800) 992-2264
or write to AMT at 765 Flynn Road, Camarillo, CA 93012.
