Fremont, CA. July 14, 1992 - - GRiD Systems Corporation today introduced
the GRiD 1755/486SLC, a powerful 486 based computer featuring desktop
performance in a competitively priced notebook package.

The lightweight 6.25 pound GRiD 1755/486SLC is the fourth in the popular
GRiD 1700 series of notebook computers. The new 1755/486SLC offers 2MB of
RAM (expandable to 8MB), an 80MB hard drive, a security password system,
and an optional fax and data modem capable of transferring files at up to
9600bps. Additional features include a full 84-key keyboard, MS-DOS 5.0
and a suspend/resume feature which offers instant-on capability.

GRiD President D. Bruce Walter said, "The 1755/486SLC is a lightweight
powerhouse that allows the user to speed through the most demanding
application. With this new notebook, customers get 486 power in a computer
weighing only six and a quarter pounds. It provides the most punch per
pound without sacrificing portability."

The rugged casework and special plastic polymer design assure a combination
of light weight and durability for the 1755/486SLC. The thick plastics
used enhance the ruggedness of the system, while a matte black finish
gives the 1755/486SLC a distinctive high-tech look.

The 1755/486SLC has a 8.5 inch brightly lit VGA screen, with 16 gray scales
(64 in mode 13). The 1755/486SLC's triple supertwist display also provides
excellent readability from multiple viewing angles. The system's
half-pound battery pack provides two and one-half hours of battery life,
which can be extended by the many power-management modes available. The
battery is rapidly charged in just one and one-half hours. Additionally,
an optional external battery charger allows notebook users the luxury of
an almost uninterrupted power source when on the road.

The 1755/486SLC also assures reliable and efficient information
transmission with the industry's first 2400bps modem with MNP 5, Hayes
autosync, V.42, and V.42bis support. The modem also doubles as a Group 3,
Class 1 9600bps fax modem.

The 1755/486SLC offers an 84 key keyboard, with standard desktop keyboard
layout, spacing, and size, as well as 3.5mm of key travel. Michael
Gibbons, GRiD's Manager of Laptop Marketing said, "The GRiD 1755/486SLC's
keyboard feels more like a desktop keyboard than those found on most
notebook computers. Therefore, 1755/486SLC users who are entering large
amounts of data, will not suffer from the stiff fingers and the
uncomfortable 'touch' common to users of other notebooks with less than
3mm of key travel."

Gibbons added, "With 486 computing power, the 1755/486SLC is another
example of GRiD's commitment to building systems that provide the most
advanced and durable notebook computer the mobile user's everyday business
applications. GRiD's customers have been requesting 486 performance for
some time, and we are now able to fill that need with a notebook product
at a very competitive price."

The GRiD 1755/486 SLC comes standard with a Cyrix Cx486SLC microprocessor,
2MB of RAM, an 80MB hard drive, 3.5 inch floppy disk drive, a system
diagnostics disk, MSDOS 5.0 power management utilities and a removable
rechargeable battery pack. Options include up to 8MB RAM and an internal
math coprocessor. The GRiD 1755/486SLC, available immediately, is priced
at $2,795 in standard configuration or $3,195 with an internal modern.
