Serve and Protect By Nettworx Multimedia

Users Manual
------------

Disclaimer: This software was intended to do the world some good by making it possible to protect your computer from people who whish nothing but to do wrong to your computer through one, small, simple program.

If this software happens to do damage to your computer (I cant emagine why it would) then it is not the responsbility of the author or the distributor who gave this to you.

Instructions
------------

I am assuming that since your reading this you know how to unzip a file. Good! You have taken your first step towards protecting your computer. Now all you have to do is add a simple command line in your autoexec.bat file wich would look something like this...

@ECHO OFF
PROMPT $p$g
C:\serv_pro.exe (or where ever you put the exe file.)

You can do this by typing...

EDIT C:\autoexec.bat

from the dos command promt.

After making the changes, save it and then reboot the computer.

Your .exe file MUST have the 4 ini files in the same directory to run. These files are backcolr.ini, textcolr.ini, passcolr.ini, and when you run setup for the first time, it will creat password.ini

CRTL-Break/C has been disable while the program is running so that any more ELEET computer users cannot exit without typing in the correct password.
Ofcourse, there is a fail safe, but if you are just protecting a personal computer, and not a computer that the general public can have access to, you should be all right.

Fail-Safe
---------

If you cannot remember your password, there is a way of getting out of this.
First thing you do is reboot your computer. Your cpu will check everything and make sure all your hardware is in tack. After this it runs a file called config.sys After this, it runs a batch file called autoexec.bat, this is the file you have the Serv_Pro command line in. All batch files can be exited at any time by pressing CTRL - C or CTRL - BREAK. You must use this key combination before serv_pro is actually started, because CRTL-BREAK is then disabled.

To do this, keep pressing CTRL-C right after your computer has finished checking memory. It will soon ask you if you would like to cancle the batch job, you would then press 'Y'.

When you are out, you can either delete the password.ini file, which will then allow you to create a new password in setup, or remove the command line Serv_pro all together from your autoexec.bat file. You can do this by typing

EDIT C:\autoexec.bat

from the dos command promt. After deleting the line, save the file and reboot.

It will not start serv_pro again.
