    as of 4 may 1996 dementia has been officially declared dead.
           there are a couple of reasons for this:

1 : a real reorganisation was necasary becouse of the high
    number of inactive members and sites.

2 : after some conflicts between mad max and brainrave, vertigo
    and tfd, mad max decided to quit dma and go for explizit,
    and everywhere mad max goes, thunderbass goes.

3 : before grasshopper went to dma, he ran an echomail network 
    called 'no-name net'. as he joined dma he wanted to rename 
    the net to 'dma-net' and use the net for contact between 
    members and spreading. grasshopper was kicked out becouse of
    some conversations between him and the second hq in the net,
    chase, also known as nielsson remmerswaal. this chase figure
    promised to everyone that if they wanted to be node in this
    net they would automatically become distro site for dementia.
    its has now been two months since grasshopper got kicked, 
    and still this chase lamer refuses to rename the network
    thus leaving sysops in the convincement that they are dementia 
    distro site. he also seems to think that he is running dma now.
    it is not often that i call somebody a lamer, but this person is
    definately a very big one.

4 : in the past some beta's of a new file-lister door where 
    illegally spread by someone, forcing us to release a 
    final version since the beta spread was not workable.
    as the design of this fileslister was mainly copied
    from wareztag coded and designed by synopsis, and
    we didn't have the opportunity to ask for permission to
    use it. this sucked. 

5 : it was time for something new :)

from this moment on, all sites and members are disbanded.
i would like to thank all people for taking the time to download
the releases and i hope all our efforts have brought you some fun.
most of the active dementia members will continue releasing under the
new group 'Imperial', so watch out for releases under that name and
beware for the new forces coming your way :) more information about
this group in the first releases.
