It is quite different as the party version was made almost all at the party place and we weren't satisfied with the result. Several stupid bugs are removed. the command line parameters are: REVE options options = DPMI : to force the DPMI protocol if available instead of the Emm-Import protocol use this switch if you don't want to have problems under Operating Systems different from good old DOS. NOSOUND : to run the demo without music (is it still a demo ?) use this switch if the demo hangs at the beginning, probably due to a failure in the sound-card detection. (the followings are only valid for SB compatible sound-cards) MONO : if you want the music to be mixed in mono instead of stereo (runs faster in mono). 8BIT : to force internal 8 bit sound-mixing (faster, but lower quality). MIX:nn : to force a mixing frequency of nn kHz. Remember it is in Kilo-Hertz! ie: if you want a mixing rate of 16 Khz: type REVE MIX:16 For instance, if you have a poor 486, with a Sound-Blaster Pro, and if you want the demo to run faster, you should enter: REVE MONO 8BIT MIX:14 Attention: by default, the mixing quality will be the best available from your sound card: SB 1.0 : MONO 22 KHz SB 2.n : MONO 22 KHz SB Pro : STEREO 22 KHz (default) MONO 44 KHz (if you enter the MONO parameter) SB 16 : STEREO 45 KHz So, if you have a 486 DX2 66 MHz with an SB16, then the demo will run, by default, very slowly because the music will be mixed at 45 KHz in stereo, which costs a lot for this kind of machines! Therefore, in such a situation, you should decrease the mixing quality (by choosing a mono and lower rate mixing). If you have a Gravis Ultrasound compatible sound-card, you needn't worry: the mixing is done by the hardware (and the resulting quality is so good!!!!!!!!!). Therefore, the time needed to play the music can be neglicted.
