ISDN

Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) connects personal workstations and Local Area Networks (LAN) to the Internet. ISDN is also often used for telecommuting. These vendors offer ISDN connectivity to the Internet.

On-line companies compile and organize exhaustive discussions about society and technology.

Shell

A Shell account is the most basic, difficult, and powerful way to access Internet resources. Shell accounts use basic telecommunicaions software like Windows Term or a terminal emulator on any computer. An understanding of the UNIX operating system is often required to make full use of a Shell account unless the provider supplies a menu system

High-speed LAN connections from 56 Kbps to 1.2 Mbps are supplied by these vendors. All provide extensive DNS, NNTP and WWW support.

UUCP

This specialized Internet service is used to connect Local Area Network (LAN) e-mail systems to the Internet. These providers offer the specialized services to link you internal e-mail with the outside world.

WWW

Providers of World Wide Web (WWW) services to the Internet give customers the ability to publish a personal home page on the Internet, offering a personal collection of art and literature to fellow Internet users. Business users also seek ISPs who offer Domain Name Service (DNS) that identifies an organization on the Internet with a customized Internet address and access to a uniqely-identiied WWW site that contains specific marketing information.
