Description
===========

IMail Server for Windows NT is an Internet standards based mail server
system for Microsoft Windows NT 3.5 and later. IMail Server consists of
a series of programs that run as services on the Windows NT system, including:

o Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)service for sending and receiving
  mail over the Internet or in an internal TCP/IP network.
o Post Office Protocol, version 3 (POP3) service to allow POP3 clients
  (such as IMail Client and Eudora) to download mail from the IMail Server.
o Internet Message Access Protocol, version 4 (IMAP4) service to allow
  IMAP4 clients (such as Netscape Communicator 4.0 and Internet Explorer 4.0)
  to access mail on the IMail Server.
o Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) service for publishing user
  information in an LDAP directory.
o A List server for creating and managing mailing lists.

IMail Server can monitor any of these services, notify you when they are down,
and automatically restart a service.

IMail Server's remote administration utilities let the system administrator
monitor the IMail Server system from a remote system and perform user and
system maintenance functions remotely.
