Readme Installation Instructions for the Health-RunR

Dear Health-RunR Software User,

Your SVGA color monitor must be set to High Color (16 bit) for the
colors used in this program to display properly. The colors will not
display properly at 256 colors or less levels. In the Windows Control
Panel, check your color setting is correct by going to Display then to
the Settings option. You will find the High Color (16 bit) option in
the Color palette pull down box. If it is not set correctly, select
High Color (16 bit) or any other higher color option.

You will also need some or all of the information contained
in the rest of this readme file to install the program
correctly. The following is a list of the main sections

Part 1: KEY UPDATES

1. As of July 7, 1998 the most current version of the
Health-RunR is version 2.1. It comes in the single file
download version called <hrbdv21.exe> or the two file
download version called <hrv21.exe> and <bdv21.exe>.

2. Versions below Health-RunR 2.0 such as version 1039,1034,
1029, 1024, should be upgraded to version 2.0 or the newest
version available. This will get you all the new features
and remedy any bugs encountered in these earlier versions.
To upgrade follow the upgrade instructions in a later
section of this file.

3. For current information on the newest versions available
as well as upgrades, patches or for problems not addressed
in these materials, go to our regularly updated FAQ at
<http://www.health-runr.com/support/faq.htm>.

Part 2: DOWNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS

(Go to next section if you already downloaded the software.)

1.1: If you are new to downloading on the Internet, to prepare
for a large download we recommend the following:

a. Make sure your hardware will run the program. The
recommended hardware requirements to use the Health-RunR
are: Windows 95, a Pentium or better processor, 16 megabytes
of internal memory, and a Super VGA monitor capable of
displaying 16 bit high color. You will also need 35 megabytes
of free hard drive space to unzip the files. The Health-RunR
will not yet run on Windows NT or install or run in a
network mode or multi-user installation.

Minimum hardware requirements are: a 486 processor, 12
megabytes of internal memory, and a Super VGA monitor
capable of displaying 16 bit high color.

The Health-RunR will not run on MacIntosh or on Windows 3.2
or earlier.

b. If you are downloading from a shareware site, you might
want to check our Support web page first to make sure you
are downloading the most current version of the software.
For the most current Health-RunR version number, visit to
our FAQ at
<http://www.health-runr.com/support/support.htm>.

If you are downloading the 60 day free trial from a shareware
site, go back and download the software. If you can't find
a shareware site, start step 1.2 below.

c. Print a hard copy of the following downloading instructions
and use them as a step by step checklist.

d. BEFORE downloading, turn off ALL programs, screen savers,
system utilities or ANY other programs you have open on the
task bar (except your virus scanner). If other programs
or utilities are open or going on or off, this may interrupt,
corrupt or completely stop your download, resulting in your
having to re-download the whole file again.

e. Make sure your Internet connection is not set to "time
itself off" automatically. ("Time itself off" indicates that
either at your browser or at your Internet provider, your
connection is being automatically terminated after you are
on-line on the Internet after so many minutes.) If you
suspect your time on the Internet is being limited, call
your Internet provider and have them tell you how to disable
this feature either on your end or ask them to disable it
at their end.

1.2: Get online on the Internet, and in your browser, type
<www.health-runr.com/products/sftdownload.htm> exactly as it
is written in lower case. Then press enter.

1.3: Fill in all the boxes with your name and other requested
information. Click on "submit" and you will be taken to the
download area.

1.4: You now have a choice to either download 2 smaller
installation files or 1 larger file. If you choose the two
smaller file download option, download the Health-RunR Food
Data <bdv21.zip> file first by clicking on the movie clapper
download icon labeled <bdv21.zip>.

If you are downloading the single file version, click on the
movie clapper download icon in that section labeled
<hrbdv21.zip>.

Note: If you are downloading a later version of the program
than version 2.1 described in this readme, the version
numbers in the file names may be slightly different, such as
<hrv22.zip>, <hrv23.zip>, <bdv22.zip>, <bdv23.zip> (for
the two file download version) or <hrbdv22.zip>, <hrbdv23.zip>,
etc. (for the single file download version).

1.5: When you click on the movie clapper download icon, the
Windows download "Save as" dialog box will appear.

1.6: For the 2 smaller files version, select the directory you
want to download the Health-RunR Food Data <bdv21.zip> file to,
or use the default. In some cases, your dialogue box will
provide 2 options, "save to disk" or "open it." Be sure to
select "save to disk," which will enable you to select the
directory of your choice. Note: the approximate download time
for the <bdv21.zip> file is 35 minutes at 56 K speeds.

If you are downloading the single file version, select the
directory you want to download the Health-RunR <hrbdv21.zip>
file to, or use the default. In some cases, your dialogue
box will provide 2 options, "save to disk" or "open it." Be
sure to select "save to disk," which will enable you to select
the directory of your choice. Note: the approximate download
time for the <hrbdv21.zip> file is 1 hour and 55 minutes at
28.8 baud.

If your computer displays a dialog box during this process
inquiring if you would like to disconnect, select "no." If you
disconnect, you will have to re-download.

1.7: Congratulations! The first file is downloaded. If you
downloaded the single file installation, you can exit from
your Internet browser, get off the Internet and go to Part 2:
INSTALLATION CHECKLIST FOR THE SINGLE FILE DOWNLOAD VERSION
and continue there.

If you downloaded the two smaller file download version, it
is still necessary to download the second file of the
Health-RunR program <hrv21.zip> following this same
procedure. So if it is not still in your browser, type
<www.health-runr.com/products/sftdownload.htm> exactly as
it is written in lower case.

1.8: In the download area, download the Health-RunR Program
<hrv21.zip> file next by clicking on the movie clapper download
icon labeled <hrv21.zip>.

1.9: When you click on this second movie clapper download icon,
the Windows download "Save as" dialog box will again appear.

1.10: Again, select the directory you want to download the
Health-RunR Program <hrv21.zip> file to or use the default.
Remember, if your dialogue box displays the options,
"save to disk" or "open it," select "save to disk," and select
the same directory you used for the first file, <bdv21.zip>.

Note: the approximate download time for the <hrv21.zip> file is
40 minutes at 56K speeds. Once again, do NOT disconnect.

1.11: Congratulations! Both files are downloaded to your computer.
You can exit from your Internet browser and get off the Net.
You are now ready to begin the 2 file installation by going to
the section called Part 4: INSTALLATION CHECKLIST FOR THE TWO
FILE DOWNLOAD VERSION.

Part 2: INSTALLATION CHECKLIST FOR THE SINGLE FILE DOWNLOAD
VERSION

(We recommend you print this small section and use it as a
checklist.)

Each 60 day free trial copy of the Health-RunR in the 1 download
file version is delivered in 1 zip file called
<hrbdv21.zip> (approximately 18 megabytes) The zipped files for
this powerful program will expand to about 33 megabytes. Be sure
you have that much free space on your hard drive before beginning
the installation process. [If you are downloading a later version of the program later than version 2.1 described in this readme, the version
numbers in the file names may be slightly different, such as
<hrbdv22.zip>, <hrbdv23.zip>, etc.)

Double click on this file. If you have a shareware zip utility. Double clicking will automatically bring up your zip/unzip utility such as Winzip, PKzip, etc. or bring up a dialog box that asks what program you want to associate with the file. In the second case, pick your zip utility and unzip the file as you would unzip any other file. (If you do not have a shareware unzip utility, go to www.winzip.com or one of the other shareware sites on the Net.)

When the file unzips you will find a readme.txt file and a hrbdv.21.exe file. You are now ready to install the software <hrbdv21.exe>.

2.1: As with all installations of any new software, close all
programs, screen savers, system utilities, etc., BEFORE you begin
the installation.

2.2: Read steps 2.2 to 2.5 before beginning step 2.2. This will
prepare you in advance to answer the various installation dialog
boxes as they appear.

2.3: Install the Health-RunR Program <hrbdv21.exe> file by
double clicking it from Windows Explorer.
the Net.)

Note: If you cannot recall which directory you downloaded the
<hrbdv21.exe> file to, or you cannot find this file, use the
Windows "Find File" function (in Tools).

Answer and follow the various dialog box instructions that pop
up during the install process. When you come to the dialog box
that asks in what directory and sub-directory you would like
to install the program, if you do not want to use the recommended default path, install the program in any directory you wish.
Just edit the default path when the installation prompts to the directory AND sub-directory you want. Use the browse button, and
the installation will create the directory tree for you to
install the program. Do not put any program into a root directory
like C,D,E, etc. without creating some sub-directory for it there
as well, i.e. <C:\health\>.

When you come to the dialog box that asks, "Do you want to
monitor your installation?" unless you are an advanced computer
user that understands this function and its relationship to your
other computer files, we recommend that you answer "no."

2.4: After the installation has created the specified download
directory, a window may appear displaying the new icon for your
Health-RunR Program. If it does, for now minimize the window to
your Task bar.

Note: After the program is installed, if you would like to launch
the program from an icon on your desktop, drag (not double click)
the icon onto your desktop and close the new Health-RunR icon
window. This will create a desktop shortcut to the program.
If you want to launch the program only from the program menu bar,
simply close the Health-RunR icon window.

2.5: When the installation process for your file <hrbdv21.exe>
has been successfully completed, a dialog box will appear
stating "Windows setup complete" with a gray box displaying
the message, "Setup is finished copying files to your computer.
Setup will now launch the program. Select your option setup."
Do NOT select the option "Yes, launch the
program file." Select the "Finish" button.

Do not attempt to start the program with the Health-RunR icon
or Program menu bar YET!

2.6: As soon as you finish this first part of the installation,
re-boot or re-start your computer. Note: On some computers,
WHEN YOU TRY TO OPEN THE PROGRAM IF YOU SEE ERROR MESSAGE
380 or 3801 or the program does not look right, re-boot the
computer a second time so the fonts and other files will
register properly and the program will run properly.

2.7: Your SVGA color monitor must be set to High Color (16 bit) for the
colors used in this program to display properly.

2.8: You can now run the program from the Windows 95 Start
menu (or from the Health-RunR icon that was created during
the install if you dragged the icon to your desktop). As the
program opens, you will come to the GUS Software Protection
dialog box that prompts you to Register or Register
Later. Select "Register Later," and continue. The GUS Software
Protection screen controls the 60 day free trial time allocation.

You do not need to send us the registration code from under the
Register button until you are ready to register and pay for the software.

2.9: Congratulations! Your installation is now complete! If you
encounter any problems running the program, go to the Trouble
Shooting section later in this file.

Downloading Problems Last Resort

If you have any unsolvable download problems, the 60 day
free trial can be snail mailed to you on a CD by following
the instructions in Part 5, the Trouble Shooting Section
later in this file. This section also has final downloading
tips and tricks for the toughest situations.

Part 4: INSTALLATION CHECKLIST FOR THE TWO FILE DOWNLOAD
VERSION

(We recommend you print this small section and use it as a
checklist.)

Some 60 day free trial versions of the current software are
delivered in 2 zip files called <hrv21.zip> (approximately 10
megabytes) and <bdv21.zip> (approximately 7 megabytes). Both
zipped files for this powerful program will expand to
approximately 33 megabytes. Be sure you have that much free
space on your hard drive before beginning the installation
process.

Note: To install this 2 download file version of the
Health-RunR software to your computer properly, you MUST
have both files. If you are downloading a later version of
the program than version 2.1 described in this readme, the
version numbers in the 2 file names may be slightly
different, such as <hrv22.exe>, <hrv23.exe>, <bdv22.exe>,
<bdv23.exe>, etc.

Double click on each of these files. If you have a shareware
zip utility. Double clicking will automatically bring up your
zip/unzip utility such as Winzip, PKzip, etc. or bring up a
dialog box that asks what program you want to associate with
the file. In the second case, pick your zip utility and unzip
the file as you would unzip any other file. (If you do not
have a shareware unzip utility, go to www.winzip.com or one
of the other shareware sites on the Net.)

When these files unzip you will find a readme.txt file and
a hrv.21.exe file in one of the zips and a readme.txt and
bdv21.exe in the other. You are now ready to install the
two software files <hrv.21.exe> and <bdv21.exe>.

2.1: As with all installations of any new software, close
all programs, screen savers, system utilities, etc., BEFORE
you begin the installation.

2.2: Read steps 2.2 to 2.5 before beginning step 2.2. This
will prepare you in advance as the various install dialog
boxes appear.

2.3: Unzip the Health-RunR Program <hrv21.exe> file FIRST
by double clicking it from Windows Explorer. It will
automatically unzip and begin installing.

Note A: If you do not install the Health-RunR Program
<hrv21.exe> file first, the program will not work because
the second installation file, the Health-RunR Food Data
<bdv21.exe> file, must first find the installed location of
the <hrv21.exe> file to complete the installation process.

Note B: If you by chance forgot which directory you downloaded
the <hrv21.exe> file to, or you cannot find this file, use the
Windows "Find File" function (in Tools).

Answer and follow the various dialog box instructions that pop
up during the install process. When you come to the dialog box
that asks in what directory you would like to install the
program, if you don't want to use the recommended default path,
install the program in any directory you wish. Just edit the
default path when the installation prompts you, using the
browse button, and the installation will create the directory
tree for you to install the there.

When you come to the dialog box that asks, Do you want to
monitor your installation, unless you are an advanced computer
user that really understands this function and its relationship
to your other computer files we recommend that you answer no.

2.4: After the installation has created the specified download
directory, a window may appear displaying the new icon for
your Health-RunR Program. If it does, for now just minimize the
window to your Task bar.

Note: If after BOTH parts of the program are installed, you
would like to launch the program from an icon on your desktop,
drag (not double click) the icon onto your desktop and close
the new Health-RunR icon window. This will create a desktop
shortcut to the program. If you want to launch the program only
from the program menu bar, simply close the Health-RunR icon
window.

2.5: When the installation process for your file <hrv21.exe>
has been successfully completed, a dialog box will appear
"Windows setup complete" with a gray box displaying the message,
"Setup is finished copying files to your computer. Setup will
now launch the program. Select your option setup." Do NOT
select the option "Yes, launch the program file." Select the
"Finish" button.

Do not attempt to start the program with the Health-RunR icon
or Program menu bar YET! Remember, you still have the second
part of the download to install before you can start and run
the program properly.

2.6: As soon as you finish this first part of the installation,
re-boot or re-start your computer.

2.7: You are now ready to complete the second part of the
installation. From Windows Explorer double click on the
Health-RunR Food Data, the <bdv21.exe> file. It will
automatically unzip and begin installing.

Note A: If you cannot locate this file, follow directions
in Step 2.2, Note B.

Note B: We recommend installing the second part of the program
in the recommended default directory or in the same directory
you installed the first part of the program to.

As with the first part of the installation, you can install
the program in any directory you wish. Just edit the default
path when the installation prompts you and the installation
will create the directory tree for you and install the database
files there.

2.8: When the second installation is complete, reboot or
re-start the computer a second time so the fonts and other
files will register properly and the program will run properly.
IF YOU DO NOT REBOOT A SECOND TIME AT THIS POINT YOU MOST LIKELY
WILL SEE ERROR MESSAGE 380 WHEN YOU TRY TO OPEN THE PROGRAM
AND PROGRAM WILL NOT RUN PROPERLY UNTIL YOU REBOOT A SECOND TIME!

2.9: Your installation is now complete! Now that both parts of
your Health-RunR program are installed, you can run the program
from the Windows 95 Start menu (or from the Health-RunR icon
that was created during the install if you dragged the icon to
your desktop).

3.0 As the program opens you will come to the GUS Software
Protection dialog box that prompts you to Register or
Register Later. Select "Register Later," and continue. The
GUS Software Protection screen controls the 60 day free
trial time allocation.

You do not need to send us the registration code from under
the Register button until you are ready to register and pay
for the software.

3.1: Congratulations, your installation is now complete!
If you encounter any problems running the program go to the
Trouble Shooting section later in this file.

Part 5: TROUBLE SHOOTING SECTION FOR DOWNLOADING AND
INSTALLATION

1. I am having trouble downloading these files.

2. I get Error 380 or The NutriCode color bars look like
colored alphabet letters instead of bars.

3. Error messages or error dialog boxes have appeared and a
feature won't work.

4. The NutriCode color bars look a lot different from the
ones displayed on the Health-RunR
web page.

5. Some of the screens don't seem to fit on the display properly.

6. I have problems reading the words and/or color bars. They
seem too small.

7. The program runs too slow.

8. I cannot size the Health-RunR windows.

===================
Problem 1: I am having trouble downloading these files. The
download keeps getting interrupted.

Solution 1: A-E below covers everything from how to prepare
your machine, through the new cool shareware downloading
utilities, to (if all else fails), getting the 60 day free
trial on CD directly from us.

a.) Most downloading problems with large files occur because
you have not prepared your computer properly. BEFORE
downloading, turn off ALL programs, screen savers, system
utilities or ANY other programs you have open on the task
bar (except your virus scanner). If other programs or
utilities are open or going on or off, this may interrupt,
corrupt or completely stop your download.

b.) Make sure your Internet connection is not set to
"time itself off" automatically. (Timed off means that
either at your browser or at your Internet provider your
phone connection is being automatically terminated after
you are on-line on the Internet after so many minutes.)
If you suspect that your ACTIVE or downloading time on the
Internet is limited, call your Internet provider and have
them tell you how to disable this feature on your end or
have them disable it on their end.

c.) Get a shareware downloading utility program. One of the
best is Get Right. Here is what Softseek says: "Get Right
is an excellent download tool, Get Right can resume aborted
downloads no matter what the reason for the break. We've
all started a large download and trusted its completion to
our modem. We return hours later, fresh from a well
deserved nap (or whatever), only to find the download
terminated mere kilobytes from its completion. If you were
downloading with Internet Explorer or Netscape, you'd have
to start from scratch. Get Right, however, enables users to
start the download right where they left off. The author,
Headlight Software, claims they resumed aborted downloads
by unplugging the modem, turning off the computer and
picking up the transfer line receiver, in addition to the
traditional causes (i.e. Internet traffic, etc.).

Get Right also includes a download scheduler--a valuable tool
on today's clogged Internet arteries. The scheduler dials
into your ISP, downloads the file to a specified directory,
and even turns off your computer once the download is
complete. Additionally, Get Right will search for speedier
download sights for the selected file, allowing you to
choose the quickest site.

To get go to Get Right by Headlight Software go to:

To get more information about downloading problems and
other cool shareware downloading utilities like Get Right,
go to:

d.) Try downloading the product again by going to our site,
another shareware site or download mirror site and download
the software from there. Sometimes downloading from another
server solves the transfer problems. A server may be or have
been temporarily off-line. As with all computer systems,
servers will also occasionally be off line for maintenance.
For a complete list of all download sites and mirrors see
<http://www.health-runr.com/support/support.htm>.

e.) Occasionally phone connections are so poor they cannot
support stable data transfer and large file downloading is
impossible. Downloading also could be a long distance call
to some Internet providers. If for any reason you cannot
download the Health-RunR 60 day free trial, you can always
order it directly from us on CD. You can always order the Health-RunR
version 2.1 and the 60 day free trial directly from us on CD. This way you can also
distribute the free trial to friends who may not be on the net.

If you wish to order your CD 60 day free trial version
and you live within the U.S., mail us your name, address,
phone number and e-mail address AND a $5.00 (U.S.) check or
money order to cover CD postage and handling. All CD postage
and handling fees will be credited back to you if you purchase
the software.

Send to:
                 Universal Food Code Inc.
                 PO Box 3330
                 Boulder, Colorado 80703-3330, USA.
you are ordering from outside the U.S., mail your name,
address, phone number and e-mail address and an $8.00 U.S.
dollar denominated check, money order or credit card draft.
All CD postage and handling fees will be credited back to
you if you purchase the software.

Allow 10-30 days processing and delivery time for all CD
orders.

Problem 2: I get Error 380 or the NutriCode color bars look
like colored alphabet letters instead of bars.

Solution 2: You may have forgotten to re-boot the computer
after installation or on some computer configurations the
installation will need a second re-boot to properly register
all the installation files. If this doesn't solve it, check
the Display settings option in the Windows Control Panel and
see if you are using small fonts. If so, select large fonts
and re-boot.

Problem 3: Error messages or error dialog boxes have appeared
and a feature won't work.

Solution 3: Click OK in the Error box and try the feature
again. If this doesn't work, click OK in the Error box and
switch to another mode then back to the original mode and
try the feature again. If this doesn't work, close the
program, re-open it and try the feature once more. Many
times these procedures will solve the problem so you can
re-enable the feature. If the problem still persists,
e-mail us using the Problem or Bug report in a later
section of this file.

Problem 4: The NutriCode color bars look a lot different
from the ones displayed on the Health-RunR web page.

Solution 4: Your computer monitor may not be set up to
show all the necessary colors. Go to the Display settings
option in the Windows Control Panel and select high color
16 bit or other higher color options (the NutriCode colors
will not display properly at 256 colors or less levels.)

Problem 5: Some of the screens don't seem to fit on the
display properly.

Solution 5: Go to your Windows 95 Control Panel. Select Display.
Go to Settings and select the 600 x 800 resolution. The program
will run at 480 x 640 resolution 600 x 800 and 768 x 1024
resolution. On most computers that have any screen sizing
problems, it seems to run best at 600 x 800. At resolutions
ABOVE 768 x 1024, the program will NOT currently size properly,
so run it at 768 x 1024 or below.

Problem 6: I have problems reading the words and/or color bars.
They seem too small.

Solution 6: Try switching to the 640 x 480 screen resolution
or use the large font features in Windows 95. You will find
these under the Display icon in the Control Panel under the
tabs called Settings (go to the Fonts section) and in
Appearance under Schemes. Use the Windows Standard Large or
Windows Standard Extra Large options. Also check the
Accessibility Options in the Control Panel for additional
vision impaired features.

Problem 7: The program runs slow.

Solution 7: Although the program will run on a 486 processor
machine with 8-12 megabytes of memory, it was designed to
run much faster at Pentium 90 and up speeds with 16
megabytes of memory. Keep in mind that this is a large
program with calculation intense data base features that
are not available in any other program.

Problem 8: I cannot size the Health-RunR screens.

Solution 8: In version 2.0 and below this feature is not
enabled.

Part 6: THE BEST WAY TO LEARN TO USE YOUR HEALTH-RUNR
PROGRAM

Like most of today's software companies who deliver their
products over the Internet, we do not provide a written
software instruction manual. Consequently, an enormous
effort has gone into creating easy-to-use Help screens
within the software itself.

These Help screens are accessible by:

1. using the Help pull down on the menu bar,
2. using the embedded Help buttons available throughout
the software, or
3. using the Help question mark cursor on the button bar.

Until you are comfortable with the program, we STRONGLY
recommend using the following instructions to maintain an
open window to the corresponding Help tutorial. To keep
the Help window open while you are learning the program,
open the Health-RunR Help from the Help pull down menu and
select "Contents." In "Contents," click on any "book,"
then click open any sub-section of the "book" and find
"Options" at the top of the menu bar. Set "Keep on top"
as the default. This will keep the Help tutorial for that
section visible, which will enable you to easily learn a
single section or a small part of a section.

Once you have the proper help tutorial window open and to
one side of your screen, proceed to the Health-RunR program
window and perform or review each step or section as
described in the Help tutorial. There is no better, faster
or easier way to learn the Health-RunR's many powerful
functions.

The Best Learning Sequence for the Health-RunR Modes

Because the Health-RunR is a large powerful program with many
capabilities and sub-features designed for both individuals
as well as health professionals, to avoid unnecessary learning
curve delays, the program is best begun by learning only one
part of it at a time in the exact sequence outlined below.

1. The New Profile Mode (The New Profile Mode must be
completed first for the rest of the program to work.)
2. The Exercise Recorder Mode
3. The Food Recorder Mode (and sub-sections, the Health
Register and the Health Recorder.)

Note: The above 3 modes, which contain all the key basics,
are essential to your ability to get started immediately.

4. The Progress Checker Mode
5. The Recipe Recorder Mode
6. The Meal Planner Mode
7. The Progress Graphing Mode
8. The Fair Compare Mode

Modes 4-8 above are the less important modes, but when used,
make the program easier and more effective. They can be
learned any time after you have learned the 3 basic modes.

Part 7: DE-INSTALLING THE HEALTH-RUNR

For whatever reason you may decide to de-install the software.
Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Add and Remove
programs. If you have the 2 file download version, Only
remove the program parts in this sequence. First select the
Health-RunR then click OK. If any dialog boxes appear asking
if you want to de-install any file or shared file, ALWAYS
answer yes or you will leave bits and pieces of the program
on your computer. (The Health-RunR de-installer only
de-installs file/s it added to your computer.) Second,
de-install the second file Health-RunR Food Data, the same
way if you de-installed the the first Helath-RunR file.

If you have the 1 file download version, go to the Windows
Control Panel and select Add and Remove programs. Select
the Health-RunR then click OK. If any dialog boxes appear
asking if you want to de-install any file or shared file,
ALWAYS answer yes or you will leave bits and pieces of the
program on your computer. (The Health-RunR de-installer
only de-installs file/s it added to your computer.)

Part 8:INSTALLING HEALTH-RUNR UPGRADES

Health-RunR versions 2.1 and up are a major upgrade from earlier
Health-RunR versions. These new versions contain so many powerful new
features that it required extensive additions to the data bases.
Consequently, we were not able to create an upgrade patch for earlier
Health-RunR versions that would correctly save personal data entries.

This means if you are using an earlier Health-RunR version ( versions
2.0, 1039, 1034, 1029, 1024 and below) and you upgrade up to version 2.1 or beyond, your personal profile and all the recipes, new foods and
favorite food items that you have entered will not transfer to the new
version 2.1 or above. It also means that all your food and exercise
recording history will also be non transferable.

We realize this is a definite inconvenience, but we believe that you
will find the new version 2.1 plus speed and power features and the
removal of a few earlier remaining nuisance bugs more than worth it.
And, for all the Health-RunR non-professional versions forward this
personal data file saving situation has been remedied.

If you are upgrading from any versions of the Health-RunR below version
2.1 such as version 2.0, 1039, 1034, 1029, 1024 etc., you will need to:

1. Write down your personal information from your personal profile so
you do not lose it for re-entry in the new version i.e. measurements
etc.

2. Completely de-install your earlier version exactly as described in
the De-installing sub-section below. You will NOT be able to install the
newer Health-RunR versions OVER the older Health-RunR versions!

DE-INSTALLING THE HEALTH-RUNR

A. For whatever reason you may decide to de-install the software. Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Add and Remove programs. If
you have the 2 file download version, Only remove the program parts
in this sequence. First select the Health-RunR then click OK. If
any dialog boxes appear asking if you want to de-install any file
or shared file, ALWAYS answer yes or you will leave bits and pieces
of the program on your computer. (The Health-RunR de-installer only
de-installs file/s it added to your computer.) Second, de-install
the second file Health-RunR Food Data, the same way if you
de-installed the the first Helath-RunR file.

B,C and D below will be unnecessary on most computers, but if you see
these files remaining after the deinstall you may want to remove them.

B. If the NutrCodeHollow, NutrCodeWide and NutrCodeNormal Health-RunR
fonts still remain on your computer after the de-install in A. above, using the
Windows Explorer go to the Windows directory and then into the Fonts
sub-directory. Delete the 3 Health-RunR True Type NutriCode fonts with the
font names NutrCodeHollow, NutrCodeWide and NutrCodeNormal and the file
names <UFCNCH.ttf>, <UFCNCW.ttf> AND <UFCNCN.ttf>. (If you have any
trouble finding these files or verifying they were removed, use the Windows
Find feature.)

C. If the Health-RunR.ini file still remains after the de-install in A. above, using
the Windows Explorer go to the Windows directory and then delete the
Health-RunR initialization file called <health-runr.ini>. (If you have any trouble
finding this file or verifying it was removed, use the Windows Find feature.)

D. If any Health-RunR directories (Health-RunR or Health-RunR Foods) or
directories (Help, Textfiles, Graphics) still remain after the de-install in A.
above, using the Windows Explorer remove any original directories
(Health-RunR or Health-RunR Foods) or sub-directories (Help, Textfiles,
Graphics) for the Health-RunR. (If you have any trouble finding them or
verifying they were removed, use the Windows Find feature.)

If you have the 1 file download version, go to the Windows Control
Panel and select Add and Remove programs. Select the Health-RunR
then click OK. If any dialog boxes appear asking if you want to
de-install any file or shared file, ALWAYS answer yes or you will
leave bits and pieces of the program on your computer. (The
Health-RunR de-installer only de-installs file/s it added to your
computer.)

Note: If you are upgrading a 60 day free trial after hearing about
the new version 2.1, you will have the same remaining days left as
on your earlier free trial version. For example, you currently have
34 days left on your existing free trial and you now download a new
60 day free trial of version 2.1, your NEW free trial will STILL
say 34 days left on free trial. This is due to the free trial timing mechanism. It will not allow any more than the 60 days
total no matter how many new free trials are downloaded.

You are now ready to install whatever new version of the Health-RunR you
downloaded <hrbdv21.exe>, <hrbdv22.exe>, etc.

Part 9: PROBLEM, BUG AND SUGGESTION REPORTS

To keep software costs low, a growing number of Internet
software companies like WinZip and Health-RunR offer
technical support only via the Internet through e-mail
and web site support services. This helps keep the cost
of our software and better health and fitness affordable
to everyone.

Fast Internet technical support via e-mail and web site
support is the wave of the future in the software industry.
Individuals used to traditional software phone technical
support will be surprised at how much faster and easier
the new Internet based technical support systems can be.

No longer will you have to wait on a phone line the
traditional 30-40 minutes for a technical support person
to finally become available or after having left a
message on the technical support answering machine wait
days for a technical support person to call you back or
catch you in or available. With the Health-RunR e-mail
technical support you not only save time you will also
find that most technical problems are resolved in less
than 24 hours (excluding holidays and weekends).

If applicable, BEFORE you e-mail us your Bug or Suggestion
report (below), we recommend you first:

a.) Check the extensive on-line Help (in the software on
the menu bar or off the help button) to see if the answer
to your help question is not already there. Our on-line
help is arranged by subject, is indexed and explains how
to use every program function.

b.) Check our regularly updated software FAQ (Frequently
Asked Questions) at our web site at
<http://www.health-runr.com/support/faq.htm>.
Here you can check to see if you are using the most
current software version that may have fixed your
problem or if you are missing a between version patch.
If so, you may be able to solve your problem with a
short upgrade or patch download.

Part 10: WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT THE HEALTH-RUNR.

Comparisons to Competitive Software:

"I have tried 3 different fitness and health programs.
When I saw how large your download was, I almost decided
to download another much smaller competitor's program.
I am glad I didn't. This software is breakthrough cutting
edge health and fitness work. If your program was twice
its current 16 megabyte download size I would still
unequivocally recommend it anyone who is serious about
getting sustainable results and being at the forefront
of the wellness revolution." J.W.

"It does everything all the other health and fitness
shareware programs I have tried better and easier, AND
it does a lot none of them can do." F.B.

"You would have to buy several considerably more expensive
fitness and health programs to get all the features of
this one program and even then you wouldn't get the all
the features." E.O.

"I know why you give away free 60 evaluation copies of your
product when everyone else gives away 30 day trials. Your
product is so good, once you have been using it a while,
you won't want to let it go." L.H.

"Considering this is such feature loaded program, it is
reasonably easy to learn and use once you get familiar
with it." K.T.

Dieting and Weight Loss

"Your product is a dieter's dream support tool. It tracks
all the information you need to track to be successful on
any diet." R.L.

"I'm a professional model. My appearance IS my livelihood.
Within a reasonable amount of daily recording time this
program helped me keep my appearance at peak levels. I
have no doubt that this software will quickly travel
through the fashion industry by word of mouth alone." C.T.

"I just returned from a weight loss health spa. It worked
so well with the diet program there that I showed it to
the staff. They were amazed at its adaptability and how
it supported their diet program as if it had been made
just for them. They are now recommending it to their
clients." S.H.

"This program does everything! Once I reached my diet
goal it became my fitness trainer and wellness program.
Well done." P.N.

Peak Fitness and Competitive Athletic Training

"For a competitive bodybuilder, tracking your nutrition
is vital. This tool is a must and a real competitive
advantage for athletes serious about their nutrition
and exercise training programs." T.M.

"I have a background in sports medicine. It looks like
the program was designed primarily for medical and
physical rehabilitation where changing diet and
exercise patterns is a life and death issue. What
amazed me is that the program still work superlatively
for serious competitive athletes...I will be getting
this to all my clients!" L.H.

"I was surprised to discover that this is one serious
peak fitness and health program and not just a weight
loss program. " K.B.

"I love it. It is the best method I have ever seen for
tracking nutrition and exercise all in one place." B.R.

Medical Recovery and Support for Heart Disease, Cancer,
Diabetes etc.

"I got this for my husband who was having a hard time
changing his diet after his heart attack. It really is
helping him get through the difficult dietary and
exercise changes necessary to make his cardiac rehab
program work. This product is a potential life saver.
Thank You." S.V.

"The time it took to learn to use my evaluation copy was
more than worth it. I liked it so much I just recommended
it for a close friend to help with her cancer recovery."
A.G.

"I showed the program to a nutritionist who works with
the American Diabetic Association. They said it was about
time someone had made a complete diabetic carbohydrate
tracking program that was easy to learn and simple to
use. I believe your new product will fly through the
Diabetic community." M.E.

"I like the completeness of the program. It allows me to
monitor my dietary content in conformity with my
physician and dietician suggestions. It also provides
me with a written copy which can be utilized by the
dietician in modifying my diet... The program tracks the
life changes that coronary rehabilitation patients are
supposed to make in their lives. For that matter,
utilizing the program could prevent an individual from
becoming a coronary rehabilitation patient if they are
committed to making the necessary life changes." W.G.S.

"I have rheumatoid arthritis and am 30 pounds overweight.
I was looking for a program that would help me stay on
track with my health and fitness goals and believe I
have found it in yours." A.N.

General Health and Wellness

"Your product is honest, realistic and motivating. It
has steadily helped me evolve my diet, weight and eating
patterns toward where I know they should be. I have told
several friends interested in wellness. They got it and
liked it, too." E.F.

"The future of health care IS about patient
co-responsibility and partnership with their health
care providers and professionals. It is about returning
more health control and health feedback tracking to the
individual so that they are better partners. It is
about a paradigm shift to creating a wellness culture
and using the best of traditional and alternative
approaches in a holistic manner. Your program is all
these things and your philosophy is right on the mark.
It is about time someone created a software program
like this!" B.W.

"I think the program is excellent. It does take a bit
of time, but so does exercise and
preparing proper meals. It really helps you to understand
the relationship between
weight, health, exercise, food items, and what makes up each food item." W.G.S.

"I would never have thought that anything could have kept me so motivated to
track and improve my nutrition and general health. I was wrong. The program
is almost like a graphics game or mystery. It draws you in with continuous feedback
that makes you want to find out what is going to happen next." D.A.

"The nutrition NutriCode in this software is great! It has caused me to see the
nutritional importance of foods in a whole new way. Why didn't someone invent
this sooner!" C.P.
