Calculating off-day combinations using the Days Off
Calculator:

1.  Enter the number of staff needed on each of the 7 days
    of the week.
2.  Select the workweek length and calculation strategy.
3.  Edit the extra-day priority sequence if you wish to
    change it.
4.  Exit the calculator and it will save its results for the
    reporter's use.

Generating reports using the Days Off Reporter:

1.  If you plan to generate reports with details of
    individual work assignments included, prepare the data
    files before starting the reporter.
2.  If you plan to generate reports using a name list,
    prepare the name list before starting the reporter.
3.  (Windows version only)  If you plan to send reports to
    an application, make sure the application is open and
    the cursor is at the point where you want the report
    sent.
4.  Start the reporter.
5.  To use previously-saved report formatting selections,
    enter the name under which you saved them and choose
    Open report format file.
6.  To direct reports to the printer, select Printer.
7.  (Windows version only)  To direct reports to the Windows
    clipboard, select Clipboard.
8.  (Windows version only)  To direct reports to an
    application, select Application.
9.  To save reports to disk, enter a file name.  To use a
    directory other than the one shown, enter a new path.
10. To start numbering of combinations or extras at a number
    other than 1, choose First combo or First extra.  To
    suppress the inclusion of combinations or extras, leave
    First combo or First extra blank.
11. To enter information to be printed at the top and/or
    bottom of each page, choose Header and/or Footer.
12. To generate reports using data files, choose Data files
    and enter the full names of the files detailing the
    individual work assignments.
13. To use a name list, choose Name list and enter the full
    name of the name list file.
14. Select the type of report you want:  Worksheet, CSV,
    Signup, or Assignment.
15. Select the report format you want:  Text or HTML.
16. If your workweek begins on a day other than Monday,
    choose First day and set the first day of the report
    week.
17. To change the number of items listed on each page of
    your report, choose Items per page and enter the new
    number.
18. To generate the report, choose Start report.
19. If you are sending the report to an application, choose
    from the list of open applications.
20. To save your report settings for future use, enter a
    file name and choose Save report format file.

    file.  To view USERGUID.TXT without exiting the
    calculator, DOS-version users can choose Shell; Windows-
    version users can use Windows Write or Windows 95
    WordPad (USERGUID.TXT is too large for Windows Notepad
    to open).
