Dish.exe is a Visual Basic 3.0 package that will aim a satellite dish at
a communications satellite in geosynchronous orbit.

To run it you will need the .EXE and VBRUN300.DLL, the Visual Basic 3.0
run-time DLL. If you don't have Visual Basic, this is available free
from Compuserve, either from the Microsoft library (GO MSL) or from the
Visual Basic forum (GO MSBASIC).

Use is dead simple. Enter your Latitude and Longitude (note that NO
checking is done on ANY numbers) and ground height in metres above
sea level (This has almost no effect on the calculations unless you
are living on top of Mt Everest). Then enter the operation Longitude
of the communications satellite. The azimuth (this is the angle
clockwise around from true North) that you need to point and the
elevation above the horizontal is displayed in blue.

The actual elevation may be up to a couple of degrees low if your
elevation is below about 20 degrees. This is because there is no
correction for refraction. The azimuth will still be correct, so use
this to aim, start at the given elevation and move the boresite up
until you get the best signal.

Dish is shareware. If you use it on more than one satellite dish,
please send the author $15 US. No responsibility for accuracy or results
accepted.
