TLCopy

TLCopy (Tree-List Copy) is a utility that allows you to copy text from
treeview, listview, and listbox controls to the clipboard. Such controls
are common throughout applications in Windows 95. For instance, the
lists of files and directories shown in Explorer are examples of a listview
controls. Many programs make use of listboxes and treeviews to
display data as well. Before TLCopy, there was no way to make use of
textual information from such controls outside the control itself. If you
wanted to e-mail someone a text version of the files listed in an
Explorer window, for example, you had to type each filename yourself.
With TLCopy, you can simply select a particular window and the text-
based information from that window is copied to the clipbaord for later
pasting into Notepad or another text editor.

TLCopy appears as an icon in the Taskbar. For convenience you may
want to place the program in your Startup group so that it is run
automatically each time Windows is started.

To copy data from a particular control or window to the clipboard,
simply do the following. After TLCopy is running, bring up the window or
control from which you plan to copy. Then click once with the left
mouse button on TLCopy's Taskbar icon. A crosshairs or `x' will appear
on the icon, alerting you that TLCopy is ready for you to select a
window from which to copy. Select the desired window by clicking once
with the left mouse button in the window of your choice. TLCopy's icon
will return to its normal display state, showing you that the text has
been placed on the clipboard. There is no need to select individual
items from a control as TLCopy will copy the entire contents of a control
to the clipboard.

TLCopy is ShareWare. If you find that you are using the program on a
regular basis, please register. Registration information is available in
the About box that is obtained by clicking the right mouse button on
TLCopy's icon in the Taskbar.
