WINTIF is a Taged Image File viewer for Windows 3.x. What it
can do is read TIF 5 Class P files, adjust the size and color of the
image, print, or save it in the same format. It supports the Windows
Clipboard, and will cut, copy or paste Device Independant Bitmaps.
What it will not do is, read or write TIF files created on a
MAC. Many MAC programs will let you create TIF files in "Intel" format
that can be read by WINTIF or any other IBM software. It will not read
or write compressed TIF files. If you want to compress any TIF file,
use LHA, which will work better, because it will compress the whole file,
not just the graphics, and its free. If you have one of the many hard
drive compression systems installed, the compressed TIF format is
redundant at best.
TIF Class P files are color graphic files, 4 to 8 bits, that have
a color pallete. "True Color" files, usually 16 or 24 bit, have not been
tested with WINTIF.
