		          Five Field Kono (1.0)
			   Edition Clinton '96

This game will only run under Windows 3.1 or higher, even Windows 95
should be able to run it. There is no installation procedure (as the
program does not require that any modifications be made to the WIN.INI
file or any other system file.)
To install the game, just create a directory on your hard disk
and copy the files from the diskette into the directory.
             DOS WINDOWS 3.1
C:>MKDIR \KONO Run the File Manager
       C:>A: Click on File
       A:>COPY *.* C:\KONO Click on Create Directory
                                      C:\KONO click OK
                                      Click on File
                                      Click on Copy
Change the From Box to A:\
Change the To Box to C:\KONO
                                      Click on OK

To set it up to run in Windows 3.1 call up the program group, click on
File, then click on New Item. For the description enter Five Field Kono.
The Command Line should say C:\KONO\KONO.EXE. The working directory should
say C:\KONO. Click OK. It should now exist in your program

This package uses the following files
	KONO.EXE	The main program
VBRUN300.DLL	Required to run the game
GAUGE.VBX	Required to run the game
SPIN.VBX	Required to run the game
KONO.MVE	File made for the Icon-Hear-It software which puts
			moving icons in your Windows.
	README.TXT	This text file
OPTIONS.KON	File created by the program to record the last
options used. The next time the game is played,
this file is read to get the default parameters
for the game. If the file does not exist, the game
			will assume : Level 2, Stalemate 20,
				      Language English (if applicable)
Player 1 Human, Player 2 Computer
USER.KON	File created by the program to record the user
code of the registered user (if appliable). If this
copy of the game does not have a REGISTER selection
when run then it is not possible to register this
			game.

	Files VBRUN300.DLL, GAUGE.VBX, & SPIN.VBX might already exist
on your computer in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory as other
programs written in Visual Basic might require them and their
installation programs might have previously copied these files
	onto your computer.

This is computerized version of a game for which at present I cannot find
any information for, although I got it out of a book, so it must be an old
game. It was written in 1995 by me (Bruce Calder) mostly as an exercise
to learn Visual Basic in which this game was entirely written.
I decided to include the advertisememts for Bill Clinton's re-election as
a way to make the game more interesting and thus more likely to be passed
on around North America (and maybe the world).

You should even be able to run this program directly from a diskette (as
long as all the files indicated exist on the diskette). In File Manager,
select the A drive and double click on KONO.EXE and the game should start.
It will probably run a little slower than usual however.

You may make as many copies of this game and distribute them freely as long
as all of the files listed above are included except OPTIONS.KON & USER.KON,
although you may include them as well if they exist or are created.

Bruce Calder will not be held responsible for any damage caused by this
program either directly or indirectly.
