 Technical Information
;

Job 73 was created on a 486/66 with SB-16 ASP MCD soundcard on April 1st of
1995. No, this is not meant to be some kind of joke ! This module was meant
to test some of my new samples. The complete sample list is now in a
separate file, included in the ZIP file. The samples used are all created
by myself, either by recording them from CD or by creating the sound and
recording it with the SoundBlaster microphone and Creative WaveStudio. If
you like my samples, feel free to use them. Use DMPC to rip them, but
remember to strip the header off WAV and VOC files. I had to reconvert all
my new samples because I had imported them as WAV files. Anyway, the easiest
way to do this conversion was to write a small program to do it for me :)

Cubic Player 0.95, DMP 4.00 and DPP 2.10 play the module as it should, on
my computer, that is :) Your player has to support sample offset, panning
and surround sound commands, otherwise it will not be as I meant it to be ...

Inspiration was very low when I made this module ... for one thing I got
a little inspiration from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana ...

 Sample Information
;

Well, as I said, read the file SAMPLES.TXT for more info about my samples. The
samples from the list used in this module are :

ArbeidAdelt.Capita.Bass                   from Arbeid Adelt !
Bolleke.Blower                            original
Bolleke.Flute.1                           original
C&C.DancingGhosts.SoftBDrum               from Chris & Cosey
C&C.DancingGhosts.Trom                    from Chris & Cosey
C&C.Elemental7.Synth                      from Chris & Cosey
C&C.HazeyDaze.Squik                       from Chris & Cosey
CassComplex.NightFall.Choir               from The Cassandra Complex
Peron.Komtur.BellSynth                    from Carlos Peron
FadGadget.BellTolls.Synth                 from Fad Gadget

Just a brief note about the original Bolleke samples :

Bolleke.Blower is me blowing on a plastic tube from a Parker pen
Bolleke.Flute.1 by starting at sample offset 1000H you get the kind of
                   dry synth sound used in the first part as lead synth.
                   Actually, the complete sample is me playing a staccato
                   A4 on my transverse flute :) Rip the sample if you don't
                   believe it !

 Background Information
;

This module is the eigth in a series about the many different jobs on the
refinery. Together they will constitute a music disk, called 'FinaDisk 1995'
which will be released at the end of the year, containing all modules I
will create during this year and my stay at Fina. If you get all my FinaDisk
files, you will know in the end how a refinery works !

Job 73 is the HydroDeNitrogenation (HDN) Unit at the Fina Refinery. It
uses H2 hydrogen gas to remove all nitrogen compounds and part of the
sulphur compounds present in the feed to the reformer unit (Job 72). This
removal is necessary because otherwise the catalyst of the reformer would
be poisoned and lose its activity.

This unit is just a small one; it was the first site I visited at the
refinery, on my discovery tour about how things work. On a paper sheet
everything looks pretty straightforward, when you're standing in the middle
of all pipelines, vessels and pumps, it is easy to lose your way. Anyway,
I was able to find all the things present on my flag sheet :)
