ORGAN WORKS of DIETRICH BUXTEHUDE (c. 1637-1707).

Maybe the most important composer for organ before Bach & an
extremely influential composer in N Europe in his lifetime.
When Bach was young he WALKED about 200 miles from Arnstadt
to Lbeck to hear Buxtehude's performances. He overstayed
his agreed upon "sabbatical" thereby incurring the
disapproval of his employer at the time.

The transcriber highly recommends the use of high quality
headset or loudspeakers & appropriate electronics for the
full benefit of this material. If signal processing for
appropriate ambience is available, so much the better.

Transcribed for computer music system by Roy V. Childs using
Adlib's Visual Composer v. 125 & Instrument Maker v. 111.
Altho rumor has it that this software is compatible with
other computer music systems, the transcriber has no direct
knowledge of this. One must have a compatible synthesizer
(such as Adlib's) to successfully run the material on these
discs. Instrument (____.ins) files will be found in the INS
directory.

All the compositions are filed under their BuxWV (Buxtehude-
Works-Catalog) numbers.
