2. Smart Run

Smart Run is a program that lets you execute a program quickly. When you type a name of a program, Smart Run will search for the item in the Start Menu. When it finds the program, it will execute it. If you use it for the first time, you need the Smart Run file. To create it, click [Setting] in Smart Run. A dialog box appears. Choose your Smart Run file by clicking [Browse] button. Then, click [Refresh] button to save the contents of the Start Menu into the file. You have to refresh the Start Menu file everytime you change the content of your Start Menu--otherwise, Smart Run would not recognize the newly-added items.

You do not have to type the whole program name. For instance, you can type "char" to execute Character Map because Character Map (or charmap.exe) contains the word that you have typed. Similarly, you can type "word" to execute WordPad (however, if you have Microsoft Word installed, winword.exe might be executed depending on the location of winword.exe).

Smart Run can be activated by pressing Ctrl + Alt + r.
