Tour:
Most likely, PaneKiller is already running. In fact, if you're reading this,
you probably found it with PaneKiller. PaneKiller should be placed in your
StartUp folder, so that it will always be available. PaneKiller is accessed
by clicking (with the left button) on the icon on the taskbar. If you need
to change PaneKiller settings, click the icon with the right mouse button.
Open the PaneKiller menu with a left click on its icon. Along with the links
to help documents, you should see a popup menu (marked with a triangle) called
Desktop. Click on this, and you'll see all the files and folders that live
on your desktop. Click on My Computer, and you'll see all the drives on your
computer. Click on the C:\ drive, and you'll see its contents. And so on:
every file on your computer is accessible here! When you find the document
or application you're looking for, just click it to open it.
Great, you say, now you can open any file on your computer without opening
a bunch of folders -- but what if you need the folder? What if you want to
manage files in that folder, or open several files from that folder at once?
Well, use PaneKiller as above to find the folder in question, and right-click
on its name. This activates its context menu; choose Open, and there's the
folder.
Opening files and folders isn't all PaneKiller can do. As above, find an
item and right-click on it. Now, choose Properties. You can also delete items,
use the Send To menu, and all the other file options you're used to.
You can customize the files and folders that appear in PaneKiller's main
menu. The main menu is controlled by the PaneKiller Items folder. To open
this folder, right-click the PaneKiller icon on the taskbar, and choose Customize
Menu. For now, we'll add a shortcut to your Favorites folder to your PaneKiller
menu. Open your Windows folder, highlight the Favorites icon, and choose
Copy. Now open the PaneKiller Items folder (choose Customize Menu from the
PaneKiller right-click menu), and choose Edit/Paste Shortcut. Now, open your
PaneKiller menu by clicking the taskbar icon, and there are your favorite
items!
PaneKiller offers many more shortcuts and opportunities to customize it to
your needs. For more details, when you're ready to become a PaneKiller expert,
check out the User's Manual.

Shareware is a distribution method intended to help both computer users and independent software publishers. The idea is, you get to try out the software before you buy it, and then make your purchase decision. You benefit, because you don't waste money on software that doesn't meet your needs, and programmers benefit because they get easy distribution of their software. Much quality software has been created and supported through the shareware method.
Thank you for supporting the shareware you use with registration payments! Otherwise, the world would lack a good outlet for the distribution of independent software.
