Windows Utilities, Disk/File File Changing

LFNbat 2.1 by Crystal Software. Reg.Fee: $5
restores all of your Win95 long filenames after using an application that does not support them (file managers, compression utilities, etc.). It creates a batch file to effect the renaming, so it is totally portable. It doesn't use direct disk access so it is much safer than other methods, and is FAT32 compatible.

FileConverter 1.5e by Klaus-Peter Knoefel. Reg.Fee: $50
translates datafiles from one format to another (i.e. ASCII to EBCDIC). The conversion tables can be edited outside the program via a normal hex-editor. You can also export dBase (2.4,3,3+) files in ASCII/ANSI or EBCDIC. The maximum record length is 1500 bytes, and only 50 files may be converted in this version.

Hex Workshop (32-bit) 2.5 by BreakPoint Software. Reg.Fee: $20
is a hex editing package for 32-bit Windows. It also provides a base converter, a hex calculator, and a bit manipulator.

HEXPert for Windows 3.0 by Matthew Woolsey. Reg.Fee: $20
allows you to view and edit binary data in both hexadecimal and ASCII formats, as well as eight different numeric formats, including signed and unsigned integers and floating point. Instead of looking for the hex equivalent of a floating point number, you can simply view the data in all formats simultaneously. The program allows editing, searching, or replacing of the data in any of these formats. Files can be up to 16MB in size. Both 16- and 32-bit versions are provided.
