Disclaimer - Agreement

Users of ScreenZinger 1.0 must accept this disclaimer of warranty:

"ScreenZinger 1.0 is supplied as is.  The author disclaims all warranties, expressed 
or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for 
any purpose.  The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential, which 
may result from the use of ScreenZinger 1.0."

What is Shareware?

Shareware can best be described as software provided to the user on a 'try-before-
you-buy' basis.  Like taking a car for a test drive, you are allowed to use the program for a 
specified period before being obligated to pay for it.

This software is provided under the shareware concept.  It is not free.  If you continue 
to use the program for longer than a thirty-day trial period, you are required to register it 
with the author.  For further information on registration, see Registration Information. 

If you decide prior to the expiration of the trial period that you do not wish to continue 
using the program, you may remove it from your computer(s) and you are not required to 
register it.

The shareware version of this program may be freely distributed, as long as all files 
associated with the program remain intact, including any readme, help, or configuration 
files.  In fact, the author encourages the distribution of this shareware program via 
uploads to your favorite BBS's and Online Services and over the Internet.



Registration Information

The registration cost for this program is $15.00.  Registration of this program is 
required if you use the program for longer than the thirty-day trial period.  Upon 
registration you will receive an upgrade code to unlock the program and remove 
shareware screens, and support via e-mail and phone.

After the thirty-day trial period has elapsed, support for loading and saving images will 
be disabled until the program is upgraded.

To register your copy of ScreenZinger 1.0, send a check or money order for $15.00 
plus $3.00 shipping & handling, along with your disk preference (3.5" or 5.25"), to:

This fee will license one copy for use on any one computer at any one time.  You must 
treat this software just like a book.  An example is that this software may be used by any 
number of people and may be freely moved from one computer location to another, so 
long as there is no possibility of it being used at one location while its being used at 
another. just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at the same time.

Commercial users of ScreenZinger 1.0 must register and pay for their copies of 
ScreenZinger 1.0 within 30 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.  Commercial 
users include, but are not limited to, software authors using it to capture screens for 
import into manuals, and those engaged in creating web pages for a fee.  Site-License 
arrangements may be made by contacting the company.

Anyone distributing ScreenZinger 1.0 for any kind of renumeration must first contact 
Possum/Red Fox Software at the address above for authorization.  This authorization will 
automatically be granted to distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its 
guidelines for shareware distributors, and such distributors may begin offering 
ScreenZinger 1.0 immediately (However, Possum/Red Fox Software must still be 
advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest version of 
ScreenZinger.).

You are encouraged to pass a copy of ScreenZinger 1.0 along to your friends for 
evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their copy if they find that they can use it.



Capturing Screens

    To capture the entire screen image, press the PRINT SCREEN key.

    To capture only a single screen from the desktop do the following:
 
    1.  Activate the screen you wish to capture by clicking on it.
    2.  Press and hold the ALT key then press the PRINT SCREEN key
    3.  The screen is now captured in memory and can be transferred into the program.

Previewing Screens

    Pressing the Preview button or selecting Preview from the menu will take you to the 
Preview Screen Capture screen,  where the captured image will be displayed.  From this 
screen you can either print or return to the main screen.  To return to the Main Menu, either select the Return to Main option from the File menu, click on the screen, or press escape.

Printing Screens

To print your captured image from the main screen, either click the Print button or 
choose the Print command from the menu.  From the Preview Screen Capture screen 
select the Print command from the menu.  You will be presented with the printer dialog 
box.  It is recommended that you choose landscape orientation from printer setup as a 
full-width screen will not print fully in portrait orientation.

Saving and Loading Images

You can save your captured image to a .BMP file or load a saved .BMP file for 
printing.  To save an image, select Save Image from the Main Screen File Menu.  To load 
an image, select Load Image from the Main Screen File Menu.


ScreenZinger 1.0
 
The main screen of ScreenZinger 1.0 contains five buttons and a menu bar.  It is 
recommended that you load ScreenZinger, then shrink, or iconize, it and run the program 
you wish to capture screens from.  After capturing the screen you wish to print, restore 
ScreenZinger and proceed.

To capture a screen for printing:
  1.  Activate the screen you wish to capture.
  2.  Press and hold the ALT key.
  3.  Press the PRINT SCREEN key.
  4.  The image is now in memory and ready for printing.

   Save an Image -  Saves the current images to a .BMP file
   Load an Image - Loads a .BMP image from file
   Print Screen Capture - Prints the Captured Image
   Preview Screen Capture - Displays the Captured Image
   Help - Brings up this helpfile

Preview Screen Capture
 
This screen displays the captured image.  From this screen you can either print the 
image or return to the main screen.  To return to the Main Screen, either select the Return to Main option from the File menu, click on the screen, or press escape.

Glossary
BBS's
Bulletin Board Systems - Online services accessed via modem or, occasionally, 
Internet.  These are smaller versions of the major Online Services.

iconize
Minimizing the program so that it is shrunk to an icon on the Windows desktop.

Internet
An interconnected series of computers spanning the world.  Also known as the World 
Wide Web

Online Services
AOL, Compuserve, and Prodigy are examples of Online Services.
