Slappy's next job was a billboard for the Eagle Messenger
Service. Slappy painted an eagle three times larger than life. It was
so real, people swore they saw it blink.
But it was too good. One day, that eagle flapped its wings and
flew right off the sign! It soared low through the streets of the
town, scaring folks and scattering them in all directions.
Finally, Slappy got close enough to douse the bird with a bucket
of paint remover. That finished it off--but the Eagle Messenger
Service never let him paint a new eagle on their sign.
