Slappy's trouble started with the huge red rose he painted above
the door of Briar's Florist Shop. It was so real, the petals seemed to
flutter in the breeze. Everyone said they could smell the fragrance.
But it was too good. That rose fooled all the bees! Hordes of
them swarmed all over it, trying to climb in. Folks were afraid to
     come near the shop.
That was bad enough. Then the rose withered and died. From then
on, the bees stayed away--but so did the customers, when they saw that
     withered rose over the door.
In the end, Slappy had to paint out the rose.
