                                  SLICING

You would only need slicing if your lawn is very thin
or recovering from severe weather conditions.

Slicing is not a cure for lawn problems. In fact if
there is a problem slicing should not be done until the
          problem is solved.

To slice your lawn you use the corner of a hoe, a
pointed hoe or other sharp tool. Make slices in the lawn two
or three inches apart and across the grade.

If possible use the same kind of grass seed as in the
          original lawn.

Spread the seed into the slice and cover it, roll it
with a lawn roller or tamp the soil over it.

Then you must water with a fine spray the same as a
          new lawn.

This process will thicken the lawn when the new seed
          grows, thickens and spreads.

Check the menu and read " new lawns " before you buy
          the seed.
