                                    CONCRETE

Concrete is a mixture of water, aggregates and a type
          of cement called Portland cement.

WATER; Only clean water is used.

AGGREGATES; Is a catch all term that includes everything
from dust size grains of sand and small stones or/and
crushed stones up to two inches in diameter depending need.

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS; At times additional ingredients are
needed for special conditions that exist.

Pouring in freezing temperatures and for concrete
that will be buried in the earth where sulfate resistance is
needed are just a few there are many.

COARSE AGGREGATE ( CA ); Is an important consideration
because the larger the the CA the stronger the concrete.

The rule is that the CA can be no larger than one
quarter of the thickness of the slab, wall or column.

MESH AND RODS; The size of the mesh that can be used is
limited by the CA. The CA must pass through the mesh.

The space between the rods can be no closer than
          diameter of the CA.
