INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

The setup program provided by PageMaster installs all the
necessary components. A program group will also be created from
which you can launch the application.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

For extensive help on any of the dialog boxes presented by the
Setup program during installation, press the F1 key or choose the
Help button in the dialog box.

To run Setup for installation of PageMaster:

1. If Windows NT is not already running, follow the procedure for starting
    Windows NT.
2. Choose Run from the File Menu in the Program Manager window. In the
Command Line box, type the drive letter and path to the location of the
PageMaster files, followed by \SETUP. For example, "G:\DOWNLOADS\SETUP".

THE INSTALLATION PROCESS

There are four steps to the installation process. The Setup

Setup will create it for you.

4. Notifies you that setup is complete.

VERSION CHANGES

The following changes were made from previous versions of the
software:

2.0

o When pages are sent, they are now done so in the background from a page
"queue". This means that while pages are being sent, more pages can be
  entered and queued for sending.

o Added a new QuikPage feature. Pages can be entered and saved for later
recall. These pages can then be sent simply by choosing one from the
  QuikPage menu.

o When sending pages to multiple alphanumeric pagers from the same paging
company, a failure of one of the pages will no longer prevent the other
  pages from being sent.

o Groups now appear on the main pager list, and can be selected for sending
  just as a pager.

o The baud rate for alphanumeric paging may now be set individually for each
  pager and service provider.

1.71

o The main window can now be resized.

o The column width settings on the pager list are now saved between runs
  of the program.

o When entering a page message, the display indicating how many pages it
will take to send the page now considers the signature, date, and time
(if these are selected to be appended to the page message).

o Added support for paging through PageMaster/ex, the paging gateway for
  Microsoft Exchange Server.

1.7

o For numeric pagers that utilize PIN numbers, added the ability to modify
the delay time between sending the PIN number and the page message.

o Added the ability to limit the number of times a scheduled page is
  rescheduled.

1.63

o Added back the DDE SendPage command removed in version 1.62.

o Added a new command line switch, -Q, that prevents messages
from appearing on the screen when using DDE, command line, or
  file sniff paging.

o Added a new option that changes the behavior of the return key when
entering a prompted message (see the Manual tab on the Preferences
  dialog box).

1.62

o DDE and command line paging can now page to groups.

o Added a page queue for DDE paging.

o Added the ability to enter service providers and to choose them when
  entering new pagers.

o Added optional time and day of week limits to mail filters.

o Added page progress information that is displayed on the status bar
during the sending of a page.

1.61

o Added a groups manager, accessible from the Groups menu item
  on the Configure menu.

o Added a failed page log

o Added the ability to edit the information for multiple pagers
simultaneously (see the Help button on the Configure Pagers dialog box).

o Added the ability to delete multiple pagers (see the Help button on the
  Configure Pagers dialog box).

o Added the ability to page directly from the command line (see the Command
Line Parameters section of the help file).

o Added a page confirmation dialog box that appears after a page has been
delivered successfully. This dialog may be enabled and diabled from the
Manual tab on the Preferences dialog box.

o Allow pages, when viewed in the page log, to be resubmitted.

o Allow scheduled pages that were missed (because PageMaster was not
  running) to be skipped.

o Choosing the Resubmit button will now display a dialog containing the
last message sent and allow it to be edited if desired.

o More information on a pager can be imported and exported to text and
  comma-delimited files.

1.6

o The Find command now highlights the appropriate pager.

o Added the ability to print selections from the page log.

o Added support for numeric pagers that utilize PIN numbers.

o Added support for Schedule+ 7.0

1.52

o Added the ability to automatically re-scan shared pager data at a user
specified interval (see the Pager Data tab on the Preferences dialog box).

o Added a command line switch, -S, that continuously "sniffs" for a text
file containing messages to be paged.

o Added more options on how a scheduled page may be automatically re-
scheduled. Rescheduling can now be done as often as one minute.

o Added the ability to specify a mailbox name in addition to the password.

o Added the ability to modify the touch-tone character used to display a
dash on the display for a numeric pager.

1.51

o Added support for reading a shared pager data file from an ODBC (Open
  Database Connectivity) data source.

o Added the ability to change the function performed when double-clicking

o Added a Caller ID "Pop-Up" window that appears on the screen when a call
is received on the Call Monitor modem.

1.41

o Added the ability to set the baud rate for paging systems that support
sending alphanumeric pages at greater than 300 baud.

o When monitoring for events without the screen saver, PageMaster no longer
displays the "Monitoring for Events" dialog box. Instead, the word
"Monitoring" appears in the status bar. This allows movement and
minimizing of the PageMaster window during monitoring.
