Introduction
------------

This screen-saver for Windows is supplied as shareware software in aid of charity.

Installation
------------

To install the screen saver run the INSTALL program from the floppy disc.

The install program will prompt for the location of the program files (C:\RAIL
is suggested) and for the Windows files (eg C:\WINDOWS)

Select the screen saver from the windows control panel and set settings as normal.

Full details: (this is taken care of by the install program)
The screen saver itself (TRAINS.SCR) must be installed in the
windows directory. (As must the initialisation file:
			TRAINS.INI)
The support libraries, STOCK.DLL and RAILCODE.DLL can be anywhere
provided that their location is given in the TRAINS.INI file.
			For example:
					[TRAINS]
					STOCK=c:\rail\STOCK.DLL
					CODE=c:\rail\RAILCODE.DLL

Distribution
------------

The saver files may be freely copied and distributed (indeed please do so).
The files should be accompanied by this file 'README.TXT'

Proceeds from this software will be used to support the work of
Crusaders, a christian charity working with young people
	throughout Britain (and beyond).

This software is supplied on the understanding that neither
the author nor Crusaders are liable for any problems or data loss
	caused by its use.

Notes
-----

I am not aware of any bugs present in this version of the
software, there are some defeciences that need correction, but
	that's another matter.

The software was developed and tested on a fairly high performance
'486 with local bus video. On this machine it runs fairly
well - on machines of lesser specification you may find its
operation sluggish. In this case try changing "resoulution"
from 'high' to 'medium' or 'low' in the setup dialog. This
will make the trains move faster, but not as smoothly.

Sooner or later I will get round to writing a version that lets
	you 'drive' the trains.

I am pleased to receive any comments or suggestions about the
	software.

Coming soon
-----------

There are new version on the way:
There is a new scene with a loco depot (and lots of light
engine movements) -but this still has bugs.
A sound option is also under development.
