PROGRAM FEATURES:

We have made every effort to make the Registry Surfer simple to
use. You should be able to begin Surfing the Registry without
even reading this section.

To get the most out of the product, however, you should be aware
of the following features:

1. SECTION: The "SECTION" block on the main form allows
you to limit the registry search to a particular major
section (or any combination of sections) of the registry.

2. MODE: The Registry Surfer can run in two modes:

2.1. AUTOSTOP: In AUTOSTOP mode, the Registry
Surfer will pause after each "hit" of the string
	you are searching for.

2.2. CONTINUOUS: In CONTINUOUS mode, the Surfer
will display each "hit" and continue searching
	automatically.

3. SEARCH: The Registry Surfer will search any combination
of Key Names, Value Names, and Value Data for the search
argument you specify.

4. SEARCH FOR: This is where you specify the value you
are searching for. The Registry Surfer requires at least
one non-blank character to look for. The drop-down list
will display the last 10 values you searched for.

5. OPTIONS:

5.1. FIND WHOLE WORD ONLY: If this option is
checked, the string must be surrounded by
	spaces, single-quotes, double-quotes, or
backslash (\) to be considered a hit.

5.2. MATCH CASE: If this option is checked,
	a case-sensitive search is performed.

5.3. MINIMIZE WHILE SURFING: If this option
is checked, the Registry Surfer will iconize
itself while searching. When the search is done,
the results window will automatically expand to
normal size. The Registry Surfer runs two to
	three times faster when minimized.

While the search is in progress, the results window will
display the following information.

1. AUTO-STOP and RUN-MINIMIZED check boxes. These will
reflect the options selected on the main window. You
are free to change these options any time you wish, even
when the Registry Surfer is "in-flight".

2. SEARCHING FOR: This window reflects the string we are
currently looking for. The large window displays the
fully qualified registry key currently being scanned.

3. E.T.: The running elapsed time of the search.

4. PAUSE/FIND NEXT: The Registry Surfer may be paused at
any time during a search. You can browse or print the
results, change options, etc.

5. PRINT: This button will produce a landscape printout
of the results window.

6. RESULTS WINDOW: The registry locations where the
search string was located are presented here in scrollable
tree-view form.

7. PROGRESS BAR: The progress bar at the bottom of the
results window contains a rough graphical display of the
search progress.
