The problem with the Windows Start-Up group is that the programs in it always
run--even when you don't want them to. I liked having programs run automatically,
but hated having to wait for them to load on those times when I just wanted to get
into Windows quickly.

That's why I wrote START and STARRUN. To use them, put START in your accessories
group, and STARRUN in your Windows Startup group. Then, run START and choose all
the programs you might ever want to load when Windows starts. START creates a list
of programs you want to run when Windows starts.

The next time you start your system, STARRUN goes through the list, and asks you
whether you want to load each of the programs. If you say "yes," the program loads
normally, as if it was in your start-up group. If you say "no," the program is
skipped. STARRUN doesn't run any programs in start-up until it's asked you about all
of the programs on your list. This means that, for example, you can decide to load
Excel, WordPerfect, Laplink and America Online, then go get some coffee while they
load.

For more information on START and STARRUN, press F1 while START is running, or look
at the file MANUAL included in this archive. MANUAL.RTF is a rich text format file that
can be loaded into WordPerfect and MSWord and printed. This file is easier to read
because it contains headings. If you don't have a WordProcessor that supports RTF files,
you can print out MANUAL.TXT, an ASCII version of the same file.
