                  WinGREP Installation Notes
                         Version 1.10

WinGREP is a program intended to make searching for strings
and Regular Expressions simple and fast. It is "aware" of
different IDE's such as Borland C++ 4.X and Delphi 1.X and can
syncronize the IDE's editor window with the results of a
search. The idea is that once you have found what you are
looking for, WinGREP can automatically open and position a
file in your IDE and you can return back to work without
coping, pasting or additional searching.

WinGrep can be installed onto any machine running Windows 3.1
or higher and at least 2MB of RAM (basically any machine
running Windows). It requires about 1MB of disk space when the
installation is complete. The only file installed to the
WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory is CTRL3DV2.DLL and BIVBX11.DLL. All
other files are copied to the install directory. If you wish
to un-install WinGREP at any time, simply run the UNINSTAL.EXE
program or choose the icon the WinGREP Program Manager group.

At the end of the installation, the install program looks to
see of you have Delphi installed on your computer ( it looks
for DELPHI.INI in Windows directory). If it is found then you
will be asked if you want to automatically install WinGREP
under the Tools menu in Delphi. If your are not using Delphi,
then just answer this no. Otherwise press the "Add to Menu"
button for quick WinGREP access.

Accessing WinGREP from the Delphi Tool menu will automatically
pass the word that is currently under the cursor to WinGREP
as the Regular Expression Search String.

WinGREP can also be installed under other IDE's Tools menu
(such as Borland C++). WinGREP's installation program does not
do this for you automatically. Refer to you IDE's manual for
information on how install programs on the Tool menu.
