Getting Started:
1. Open the "qLOOKups" folder (directory) inside it are three icons the
"qlookups.exe" program, a folder called "Files", and a folder called "Western".
To find its reference and rate chart files, QLOOKups will always look in the
same folder in which it resides for a folder called "Files" that contains a
folder called "QwikData" . Be very careful that you never move or rename the
"Files" folder or the "QwikData" folder.

2. If you live in the Western USA then you will need to open the "Western"
folder and drag the two "Country..." files and the two "UPSRates..." files
into the "QwikData" folder letting them replace the ones that are there.
If you live in the Eastern USA then just throw the "Western" folder in the trash.

3. Double click on the "qlookups.exe" icon. When the QuickLOOKups USA screen
comes up choose "Handling Charges" from the "UPS" menu. Fill in the handling
charges information for your company. Hit the Done button when finished.
(Note: if you do not charge any handling charges choose the "Fixed Rate" button
and set the amount to 0.00.)

4. Get out your "Ground Service Zone Chart" that you received from UPS.
Choose "Edit Zip Code Chart" from the UPS menu. Any zip codes or zones that
do not agree with your local chart just double click on and change. Delete
any extras or add new one if you need to. (Note do not change the zones
numbered above 8, they are Alaska, Hawaii, and the American Islands and will
not be in your local chart.) We would have made this chart for you but it
seem that these charts are completely controlled by the local offices of UPS
and the national office did not have one that was 100% correct.

5. In September 1993, UPS scrambled the zone charts for Mexico and Canada.
There is now a separate chart for each region of the USA. You will need to
get the "Service to Canada and Mexico" Rate/Zone Chart from UPS for your region
and enter the Intl. zones for Canada and Mexico if you ship to either.

6. That's it. Everything should be ready for you to start enjoying the
qlookups program. No changes should be needed for any of the International
Cities and zones (unless UPS adds a few new ones).

7. Get your registration mailed. UPS has changed things up to three times a year.
We can not notify you of changes if you are not registered.

Caution: If you are updating an existing QuickLOOKups program you want to be
careful not to loose all of the zip/zone chart information you have already entered.
1. Rename your old qlookups folder to something else (ex. "qlook94").
2. Install the new qlookups folder.
3. In the "qlook94" folder, in the "QwikData" folder inside the "Files" folder find
the four files that start with "zip...". Move them into the new QLOOKups folder.
4. Place the four 'zip..." files into the "QwikData" folder inside the "Files"
folder in the new QLOOKups folder letting them replace the ones that are there.
