-----Jokes

[DESFUN]
DES Fun 3.00 (Dragon's Eye Software; $10) contains ten relatively harmless
joke programs for Windows. These little gems range from faces drawn randomly
on the screen, to cracks that appear from out of nowhere (with sound
effects!), to laughing eyes that follow your cursor's movement, creepy bugs,
and many more.

[FLIP_RS]
Flipped (Salesas, Robert; $0) is a harmless joke program that flips the screen
upside down, wallpaper and all. The screen reverts to normal when you click
the mouse.

[PC_VD]
PC-VD (Merriman, David; $?) is an amusing little program that pokes fun at
viruses and the hoopla surrounding them. Requires VBRUN100.

[PSLJOKE]
PsL Jokester (Ford, Nelson ASP; $0) is a harmless practical joke to pull on
someone. We won't spoil it by telling you what it does. Requires VBRUN.

[RUNNIN]
Runnin ($0) is an amusing little desktop joke. It creates a small window that
runs away from your mouse cursor. You must try to catch it and click on the
close button. Requires VBRUN300.

-----Memory Games

[AUTO_CN]
Auto Concentration 1.0 (Leonardo, Lou and Howman, Cean; $20) is an interesting
and challenging version of Concentration. You turn over squares trying to
match up different automobile manufacturer logos. The three levels of
difficulty give you a 4x4, 6x6, or 10x6 board to solve. A top ten list is
maintained. This is lots of fun, with great colors and many playing options.

[CONCEN]
Concentration Challenge 1.0 (Thomas R. Weiss; $10) is a colorful version of
the classic matching game. Requires VBRUN300.

[DBM10]
Double Match 1.0 (Puraty, Dan; $12) is a colorful animated game of
Concentration for Windows 3.1. Up to four players take turns matching pictures
to reveal parts of a hidden phrase. You can play against computer opponents
with intelligence levels from dumb to expert. Other features include amusing
sound effects, top 10 score recording, hidden bonus squares, and more. A sound
card is recommended.

[FLIPOUT]
Flip Out! 3.0 (Johnson, Kent; $20) is a Concentration-type game for Windows.
You can play against others, or against the computer. Several game types are
provided including matching dice with their totals, clock faces to digital
time, coins to their amounts, and fractions. Games can be scored against the
clock, or by how many matches you achieve. Other features include custom board
sizes, high score lists, and much more. VBRUN is required.

[MATCHES]
Matches (Quality Concepts; $10) is a unique "Concentration" game. In addition
to trying to remember/match hidden pictures, there is an option to match
pictures and words. This is an excellent game for both children and adults. A
hard disk is required. (The authors are no longer at the address provided in
the documentation.)

[MEMTILES]
Memory Tiles (Patch, Kevin L.; $10) is an attractive Concentration type game.
You can use either shapes or pictures for tiles, or a combination of both.
Several different sizes of playing grids are provided, or you can create a
custom grid of any dimensions.

[NCRUNCH]
Number Crunch 2.0 (Persky, Jon; $5) is a memory game that requires you to turn
up the hidden numbers 1-20 in order. The better you can remember the location
of numbers you have already seen, the faster you can solve the puzzle, which
is the goal of the game.

[SIMN_JE]
Simon 1.01 (Elkins, Jeff; $0) is a variation of the Simon Says game. You must
click on the colors, trying to match the sequence played by the computer.
VBRUN is required.

-----"Game of Life" Games

[AUTOCELL]
AutoCell 1.1 (Paul Keet; $10) lets you design cellular automatons and cellular
computers (similar to Game of Life theory).

[CELLWAR]
Cell War 1.0 (Funk, Al ASP; $5) is a battle to the death for two rival
microorganisms. As you place new microbes on the grid, they will either grow
and propagate or die depending on their placement. You can play against a
friend or a computer opponent with variable levels of difficulty. Requires
WIN31 and a mouse.

[LIFE_DS]
The Game of Life 1.0 (Stafford, David; $0) is a game of cellular survivial for
Windows. There are several different species of cells, including Snowflake,
Glider, Spaceship, Seed, and others. You simply plant them on the screen and
watch their struggles. You can zoom in and out on the display, step through a
growth cycle, and more.

[PLIFE]
PLife 1.0 (Urlocker, Zack; $0) is a Windows implementation of the Game of
Life. TPW source code is included.

-----Other Games

[21CT]
21 CardTrick 1.1 (MOJO Software; $7) is a magic trick for Windows. Three rows
of cards are displayed. You pick one and the computer figures out which it is.

[B_ARROW]
Bow & Arrow 1.0 (Di Troia, John; $12) is an entertaining hand-eye coordination
game. Having seen bow-and-arrow type games that were not very interesting, we
were prepared to be disappointed again, which made this one all the more
enjoyable. In the first stage, balloons float up the screen and you must shoot
them all before you run out of arrows. On the second level, you must again
shoot the red balloons, but without hitting the yellow balloons. The third
level, in which you must pop bubbles to let the butterflys trapped in them fly
away, is easy enough to lull you to sleep, only to get "slimed" on the next
level. We never got beyond level four, not being nimble enough to avoid being
slimed, so you will have to discover for yourself what awaits you on the
higher levels.

[BLCKOUT]
Blackout (Mills, Patrick; $12) is a challenging hand-eye coordination game.

[CTEST_W]
Color Test for Windows 2.0 (Wilkins, Terry; $15) gives you a personality
profile based on the colors you like best.

[GTG]
Get The Girl! (JAB Software; $20) is an adult oriented role-playing game for
Windows. The goal of your character is to successfully answer a series of
questions by a beautiful girl in hopes of going out with her. When a question
is asked, you must choose from a menu of possible answers. If she likes your
response, you are allowed more questions. The 256-color pictures, digitized
voices/sound effects, and MIDI soundtrack are very well done. Requires WIN31
and VBRUN200. A sound card is highly recommended. (The authors can no longer
be reached at the address provided in the documentation.)

[ICHINGW]
I Ching for Windows 1.01 (Pocket-Sized Software; $10) provides an
interpretation of an ancient Oriental form of fortune-telling. Sixty-four
hexagrams and their meanings are provided, and you can randomly select one
after posing a question or view each one individually.

[NNNW]
Neural Ned in NEDS WORLD 1.00 (David Smiczek; $14) train a small creature to
survive.

[OUIJA]
Ouija 2.21 (Gifford, Scott; $5) is a computerized Ouija board program in which
the spirits guide your mouse around the board to spell out answers to your
questions. (Haven't those spirits heard of Modems?)

[TSETSE]
Tsetse ($0) is the world's smallest arcade game! The whole game takes place on
the program's icon. The goal is for you to "shoot" objects as they fly by,
using the right button on the mouse to click the cursor on them. High score
and the current score is displayed in what is normally the icon's title. Not
the most challenging arcade game in the world, but one of the cutest and
cleverest.

[WINWIZ]
Windows Wizard (Campbell, George; $0) is an animated fortune-telling game. You
simply type in a question, and the Wizard will answer you in an eerie voice.
(The Wizard's mouth moves and eyes blink.) Requires Windows 3.1, sound card,
and VBRUN.

-----Games for Windows NT:

word-guessing game.

of the well-known 8 tile puzzle game.
