                          Time's UP v2.0
=================================================================

FREEWARE !!

Requires VBRUN300.DLL (Get this one yourself off any BBS)

This program was inspired by a novelty clock that
counts down the amount of time left before your
death. Why pay for a clock that you can emulate with more
versatility on your desktop? Just input your birthday and
expected longevity and the program ticks off your life, second
by second. Inspirational quotations pop up now and then to
inspire you to use the time you have left wisely.

The original version of this program was distributed as TimeLeft,
but the name has been changed to distinguish it from another
similar shareware program of the same name.

Files:

	TimesUp.EXE	:	the program
	TimesUp.Quo	:	quotations
TimesUp.Dat	:	longevity data by country & gender
MSAFINX.DLL	:	ideally should be copied over to
				your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. You
may delete this file if you already
have a copy in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM
				directory.
	TimesUp.Txt	:	This file

Improvements over the original version posted 1994 on Compuserve:

	1) automatic input of life expectancy by country
	   of residence and sex.
	2) retains last window position
	3) selection of readout formats
	4) Selectable new quotation frequency
	4) 1 hour is now "1 hour", not "1 hours"
	5) Option to remain always visible on desktop
	6) Counts down by the second rather than the minute

Explanation of options:
	1) Format: Self-explanatory. Selects readout appearance.
	2) Quotation frequency: Selects how often a new quotation
			        scrolls by.
	3) Update frequency: By default, the readout updates every
second. If you have a slower computer, you
can change to updating every 10 seconds, using
		             up slightly less CPU time.
	4) Always on top: if checked, window won't be hidden by
			  other programs. Default=Off.
	5) Auto..: In the data input form, pressing AUTO.. allows
you to input an average life expectancy by country
and sex. (You lose three years for smoking!). The data
for this form comes from the TIMELEFT.DAT file,
which is a simple text file allowing the user to
add to or update the data.

You may distribute this program freely.
Just two restriction:

	1) All of the above 5 files must be distributed.

	2) If this program is being included in a shareware anthology,
let me know. It's still free, but I'd like the opportunity
to include any bug-corrections or updates.

Comments always appreciated.
