              Famtree Pre-Installation 'Read Me' File

The Famtree files come on a standard 3.5" disc. The files are
compressed, and the program must be installed - you cannot simply
copy the files from the installation disk to your hard disk.
Start your computer, and start Windows. Insert the installation
disk in your 3.5" drive (usually drive A). Choose 'Run' from the
Program Manager 'File' menu, type a:setup, and press 'Return'.
Just follow the screen instructions and Famtree should be
installed on your hard disk in a directory called 'Famtree'. The
directory should now include the program, some sample files,
and the manual, and there should be a 'Famtree' program icon, and an
icon for the manual, on your desktop. You can now remove the
floppy disk and put it away. Just double-click the Famtree icon to
start the program.

You can load the manual by double-clicking on its icon, and you can
print it out. On most systems you can open the manual, Alt/Tab back
to the Windows Program Manager, and start the Famtree program,
alternating between the two, should you need to using Alt/Tab. In
addition, on-line help within Famtree is always available while
the program is running.
