BOGEST is similar to the Milton Bradley word game BOGGLE.
The object of the game is to spell as many words as possible in a 4x4 grid.
Each word must contain at least 3 letters.
One point is scored for each letter over 2 in the word.

Letters in the word must be formed from adjacent letters in the grid.

       D R O W
       W O R D
       G A M E d R
       E M A G W O

If you start with D in the upper left corner the letters R in the first
row and W O in the second row are the only possible 2nd letters of a word.

Using O as the 2nd letter, the 3rd letter in the word can only be:

    d R O
    W o R
    G A M
R or O in the 1st row, W or R in the 2nd row, and G, A or M in the 3rd
row. D in the first row is not allowed because it has already been
used in the word.

Using a mouse to select letters:
Left click to select a letter, right click to signal a complete word
or click in the frame surrounding the letter squares to signal the
complete word.

You can use BOGEST without a mouse by using the "alt" key and the
underlined character to focus on a command button. Sometimes you
must follow this with an "enter" to activate the command.

When you are building words:

Use the enter key to select a letter square when that square has the
focus.

To change the focus from one square to an adjacent square
several options(none very satisfactory) are available.

If "numlock" is on you can use the arrow keys on the numeric keypad
to position the focus within the letter matrix.(don't forget the
"enter" key to select the letter)

In all cases use the "shift" key after you complete a word.

Other options to move the focus within the letter matrix are:

1. Use the regular arrow keys to position the focus.

2. Use the "I" and "K" keys for up and down and "J" and "L"
for left and right.

3. Use 2 digit numbers representing the desired position in
the letter matrix as follows:

        11 12 13 14
        21 22 23 24
        31 32 33 34
        41 42 43 44

The computer only looks for 3,4,5 and 6 letter words so you can get
a better score than the computer by making longer words. You will find
it difficult to beat the computer unless you adjust the options on
the options screen to restrict either the time allowed for the computer
and/or the length of words the computer is allowed to look for.

All the .txt files can be modified with almost any text
file editor, if for instance you wish to delete some words
from the dictionary, or give yourself an unbelievable score
on the high score chart, etc.

if you want the computer to beep when you make a word that
isn't in the dictionary you can turn off the option to add
words to the dictionary. This is a good idea if you are
having trouble with moving and clicking the cursor because
the beep will alert you to a possible miscue with the cursor
so you can enter the word again.
