1. Documentation to accompany Quick Edit can be found in the Windows
help file QEDIT.HLP. To access this, select Contents from the Help
menu in Quick Edit.

2. Quick Edit is a text editor to replace Windows Notepad. Further
description about its uses and applications can be found in the
Windows help file.

Quick Edit was written by Steven Porter, and is entirely my own work.
Quick Edit was written using Turbo Pascal for Windows 1.5 from
Borland. Quick Edit is an ObjectWindows program. Portions of this
software package are copyright to Borland International.

The software provdided within this package is provided on an "as is"
basis and the Author (Steven Porter) makes no warranty whatsoever
regarding the product and specifically disclaims any implied
warranty or liability of any kind.

All trademarks are acknowledged.

3. Requirements

To run, Quick Edit needs the following

    Microsoft Windows 3.1
    IBM Compatible PC

4. Shareware and Distribution

The complete package contained within the compressed file is
distributed as shareware. It is not free nor is it public domain.
The copyright of the package is retained with the author (Steven
Porter). This software can be evaluated for a limited period of 30
days. Afterwhich, if you intend to continue using it, you must
register with the author (see the Windows help file for further
information). You, the user, may freely distribute the compressed
file, but the individual files contained within must not be
distributed separately.

The compressed file contains the following files:

QEDIT.EXE - Windows executable file
QEDIT.INI - Default initialisation file
QEDIT.TXT - This file
QEDIT.HLP - Windows help file
PSUBS.DLL - Windows dynamic link library

All of the files should be located in one directory, with the
exception of PSUBS.DLL which should be copied to the windows/sytem
directory - however, this is not necessary. If you do copy the DLL
file to the windows/system directory this may save some disk space
because it will be used by other shareware programs I have written.

I ask only a nominal fee for registration, so do the right thing
and register.
