* DOVE NEWS * 
=============
Jim White reports that DOVE is running a new set of software that tests the 
digital to analog converter and other hardware and software capabilities of
the satellite.  DOVE now transmits digitally generated tones through the DAC 
and exercises software that implements two way communications between 
on-board processors.

* REVISED AO-13 SCHEDULE *                          
========================== 
A revised AO-13 transponder mode schedule for 1994 Sep 12 - Dec 19 is
presented below.
 
During the severe eclipses at the end of October, the mode-B transponder
will be ON from MA 0 to MA 30.
 
An expedition to The Gambia (C56) coincides with this period, and this
change is in response to its specific request.

The battery charge state is of paramount importance during eclipse seasons.
As always the command team may have to have to make temporary changes to the
published schedule.  In that case we will try to minimise the inconvenience,
setting Mode-B OFF from MA 230-256 in the first instance.
 
Please don't rely on gossip and rumour!  Continuous up to date information
about AO-13 operations is always available on the beacons, 145.812 MHz or
2400.664 MHz in CW at 0 & 30 minutes past the hour, RTTY at 15 & 45 minutes
past the hour and 400 bps PSK otherwise.  These bulletins are also posted to
Internet, ANS, Packet, PacSats etc, and many international newsletters.  A
400 bps PSK decoder is available from G3RUH and several DSP products;
display software P3C.EXE etc from many Amsat groups.
 
The active command stations are listed below, and constructive feedback
about operations is always welcome.

* WEBERSAT NEWS *
=================
WEBERSAT (WO-18) is broadcasting new pictures and light spectrometer data
weekly.  Software for the extraction, decoding, and display of spectrometer 
data, written by Bob (KB7KCL), is available by request on AO-16/LO-19, or 
directly from Weber State University.  Monday utc, continues to be the day 
for the broadcast of the most recent spectrum, along with the week's WOD.
 
WeberWare 1.0, 1.2, 1.3, or a similar program is required for picture 
extraction, decoding, and display.  WeberWare 1.3 is the current software
version, and is available from Weber State University, AMSAT-NA, or 
AMSAT-UK.  The most recent WeberSat double field image is number 9/13.
 
WO-18 is currently sending another portion of the base line survey of all
telemetry channels.  The selected channels are 0x36 54 +Y Temp, 0x37 55 
PSKHPA Temp, 0x38 56 +Z Temp, 0x39 57 Horizon Sensor 1, 0x3A 58 Spectrometer 
Light Sensor, and 0x3B 59 Impact Sensor.  This is an excellent opportunity 
for a student, group, or class to use this data to better understand 
WeberSat's experiments.  WOD collection and broadcast will adhere to the 
following schedule:
 
28 July/Week2: **Variable (Requests for specific channels will be taken.)
04 August/Week3: BCR, 21 22 29 2F 33 36
11 August/Week4: Temperatures and impact detector, Ch# 14 2F 30 35 3B 40
18 August/Week1: Array currents, Ch# 26 27 28 29 2A 2B
25 August/Week2: **Variable (Requests for specific channels will be taken.)
 
**If no requests are received for specific WOD, then another part of the 
   base line survey of all telemetry channels will be conducted.

The UNAMSAT-1 spacecraft is still on the ground and patiently awaiting for 
its launch, which should take place in the next few weeks.  An operations
guide for using the UNAMSAT-1 satellite will be available at the AMSAT
Symposium in Orlando, Florida.  Questions and comments can be directed by

NOAA-12:     APT 137.50 On
Meteor 2-21: APT 137.85 *OFF*
Meteor 3-5:  APT 137.85 On
 
NOAA-9 is off due to VHF-conflict with NOAA-11.  Checked APT of Meteor 3-3, 
-4, and -6, no Signal 137.00-137.99 MHz from 06.30 UT until 19.00 UT.
