Thanks for looking at our program. We feel that this group of
macros provide the best under ($100.00) productivity enhancement to
AutoCAD that exists today. It certainly is priced right! We will
send the SOURCE CODE when you send in your registration fee. We are
always adding programs as we develope them.

The utility requires AutoCAD release 10 or 11. We find running any
kind of Autolisp program on a system without at least a 386
processor inefficient and slow. If you are making a living using
AutoCAD we suggest you spend your money upgrading AutoCAD to at
least release 10c on a 386. Then purchase the utility next.

For directions on use of the programs use the quick commands in the
file QUIKCMD.DOC. A full manual is included when you send in your
          registration fee.

What does the Draftsman's Companion do?

The Draftsman's Companion provide a set of utilities that make
AutoCAD less prompt and input device intensive. The Copies, Moves
and Stretch commands allow you to simply move, copy or stretch by
distances without specifying from and to points. For instance if
you use the HM (Horizontal Move) the routine will prompt you to
select your entities and then you provide a distance (EX: -1) which
would move the geometry one unit to the left. The layer commands
allow you to manage layers without remembering the cryptic commands
that AutoCAD uses, typing "N" gives you the AutoCAD layer dialog
box. The PT command puts points where you need them. How many times
have you needed a point located 5/8" horizontally from your last
point. FC finds the center of any two lines or line segments.

The one letter commands "L" and "E" for Line and Erase are
tremendous time savers and well worth the registration fee alone if
you do not already have something like it. By reducing the most
needed commands to two letters you will find yourself doing many
things faster once you become familiar with the names. It does not
take long to memorize them. Paste the Quick Command Guide somewhere
so you can quickly see what you are looking for in the beginning.

          Installation Instructions:

          Make a directory called DC.
For those unfamiliar with dos attach to your disk usually C:
          and type:

          MD DC |Makes the directory
CD DC |Attaches to the directory

Copy all the lisp programs into the DC directory.
          Copy a:\*.*

Enter AutoCAD as you usually do.

Any individual lisp program can be loaded by typing a load command
at the command prompt as follows:

                         (LOAD "/directory/lisprogram")

So to load the Horizontal Move Command you would enter:

                         (LOAD "/DC/HM")

We have included a program called ULOAD.LSP which loads all
thirtysomething macros at one time. The program has been coded to
load all the programs from a directory called DC on the current
drive. The sequence to loading the software from the DC directory
          is as follows:

          (load "/dc/uload")

          AutoCAD responds:

          C:ULOAD

          You can then enter:

          ULOAD

Blueline will load all 30+ macros.

          NOTE:
THE REGISTERED VERSION OF THE PROGRAM DISABLES THE OPENING
REGISTRATION REMINDER SCREEN AND REGISTRATION ENCOURAGEMENT
          INFORMATION.

Other Products from Blueline Development Inc.

Our mission is to provide the best low cost add on software for
AutoCAD available. If you have a pet routine you would like to
bring to market please call us and we can add it to our products we
do pay royalties and commisions for third party developers (No
Macro to small!). If you want something developed we do that too.
If we can resell it the fees are lower.

In addition to the draftsman's companion we have several other
          products.

Blueline The Blueline Construction system adds guide line
capabilities for fast layout and design. Blueline
eliminates the need to ever have to type @4'6.1/2<-270
again. Ideal for projecting elevations and details for
any discipline. Construction lines have been a big
selling point of other CAD systems for quite some time
but as far as we know we are the only ones who have added
it into AutoCAD. ($149.00). Limited working version
($10.00) The limited version is included if you register
                    the Draftsman's Companion.

XY-Explode Explodes blocks that have different X and Y scale
factors as well as blocks having been mirrored or
mirrored and scaled. The program works in both release
10 & 11 versions of AutoCAD but only on 2D blocks.
Please let us know if we should do a 3D version.
                     ($79.00)

Xtracter Extracts entities from blocks without destroying the
                    integrity of the block. ($79.00)

Xporter Allows the user to interactively create template files
without leaving AutoCAD. Scans the drawing and provides
the user with a list of blocks and their attributes to
select from a screen menu and builds the template file.
Also allows you to save and edit both the template and
the extract files in any text editor. ($119.00)

AutoARC The AutoARC draws an ARC tangent to an existing line or
Arc. The user supplies the Radius and either the Angle or
the length of the Chord. AutoArc does the rest. ($99.00)

          ABOUT SHAREWARE

(The following is courtesy of Paul Mayer, although we have added
some comments; we don't claim copyright to Mr. Mayer's writings.
(We do not even know who he is.)

Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before
buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it,
you are expected to register. (Our policy is listed above.)
Individual programs differ on details-- some request registration
while others require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
registration, you get anything from the simple
right to continue using the software to an updated program with
          printed manual.

Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and
the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are of
comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs and bad
ones!) The main difference is in the method of distribution. The
author specifically grants the right to copy
and distribute the software. either to all and sundry or to a
specific group. For example, some authors require written
permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
Shareware. (Our policy allows persons or user groups to freely
distribute the shareware version of the program. Commercial disk
          vendors must contact us first.)

Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether
it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware systems makes fitting
your needs easier, because you can try before you buy. And because
the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware has the
ultimate money-back guarantee-- if you don't use the product, you
          don't pay for it.

          ASP MEMBERSHIP

We are applying for membership in the Association of Shareware
Professionals. This is a standards making body to improve and
          encourage shareware.

Although this program is not produced by a curent member of the
Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP). We intend to abide by
their rules and ASP wants to make sure that the shareware principle
works for you. If you are unable to resolve a shareware-related
problem with an ASP member by contacting the member directly, ASP
may be able to help. The ASP Ombudsman can help you resolve a
dispute or problem with an ASP member, but does not provide
technical support for members' products. Please write to the ASP
Ombudsman at P.O. Box 5786, Bellevue, WA 98006 or send a Compuserve
message via easyplex to ASP Ombudsman 70007,3536
