No, it's been outlawed because Dow Chemical had a lot of clorine
bleach to sell. The only main use for the otherwise poisonous
and useless by-product of petroleum cracking is to bleach wood
fiber for paper production. However, the whole process was more
expensive than to make paper from Cannabis Hemp. It also produced
an inferior paper product. Therefore, Hemp had to go. Dow enlisted
the help of Hearst and his newspapers by offering him a piece of
the paper profits (to this day, the majority of the Hearst Empire
is based on Paper Profit) if he would bring the power of his media
conglomerate to bear on the problem of outlawing Cannabis. Reefer
Madness was made with Hearst money. His papers ran multiple stories
about the "Perils of The Evil Weed" and His radio stations broadcast
inumerable editorials about the menace to youth. People are sheep,
Cannabis Sativa was outlawed. Dow made money, Hearst made money,
   Politicians made money. "Justice" prevailed.
