Information in this document is more current than that in the
online Help.

Contents
========

There are two functions that should be performed when Sundial is
first installed.

1:- Changing the Current Physical Location.
    ---------------------------------------

When first installed Sundials (C)urrent (P)hysical (L)ocation is
set to the United Kingdom. It is a good idea to reset the CPL when
Sundial is first used, such that it represents the true location in
addition to the Country, this may require a new entry in the database
if one does not already exist.

To add a new location to the database, use the Add Location command
under the Edit menu..

Then use the Change Location under the Options Menu..

Refer to the Help system for further information.

2:- Enabling the Auto Update System Time and Date Facility
    ------------------------------------------------------

Everytime the CPL is changed the computers built in Time and Date
should also be changed, this can be performed automatically on most
computers but not all, for this reason the feature has been made
optional, and can be enabled by selecting preferences from the Option
menu and changing Auto Update System Time and Date and then selecting
Update. Now if the system either begins or finishes a DST period the
system date and time will be updated, or if the CPL is changed to a
different time zone, again the system time and date will be updated.

Refer to the Help system for further information.

Known Problems
==============

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When installing Sundial using SETUP - Does not apply to MKSUN.EXE

A windows file called DDEML.DLL may be required for some Windows 3.0
installations, but should not be required under Windows 3.1.

If an error message apprears when first installing sundial, saying Windows
can't find DDEML.DLL then, DDEML.DLL must be added to the SETUP.LST file.

This can be done by running WIN30.BAT with the default drive being the drive
that contains the Sundial disk, this can be done from Dos or from the program
manager.

WIN30.BAT adds the DDEML.DLL to the setup program.
WIN31.BAT removes the DDEML.DLL to the setup program.

The File DDEML.DLL is not compressed on the Sundial disk, so it can be
copied across to the Windows system manually if required, remember, all
.DLL and .VBX files should be placed in the system directory, unless the
Windows system is on a network.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If an attempt is made to change the CPL to a country, where the
current CPL is a locality within that same Country, Sundial informs
the user that the CPL is already in that Country.

Solution - Change to another country before the required Country.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Auto refresh option in the clock editor fails to notice that
the title has been changed.
