Changes to the Micro-FMS and Micro-GENE systems:

3.10

The menu selection was changed from the Function Keys to a LOTUS style menu
system. This has increased the friendliness of the system and has reduced
the response time from one menu to the other.

3.20

The editing functions of the "add record" have been increased to include the
HOME, END, DEL, BSKP as well as the Up arrow and Down arrow keys. This allows
for a more flexible edit routine.

Also, the update routine was changed to show the field attribute (Numeric,
Upper, Date etc) to help you input the correct values for the fields.

The Screen write routines have been modified to include an assembler routine.
This has made the Displays FAST!

Soundex search has been added to the Serial Search [Look For] function of both
FMS.EXE and GENE.EXE.

3.21

Corrected a minor bug which chaused a "illegal function call at 970" and only
impacted files which were greater than 999 records.

3.22

GENE.EXE

Corrected the [Change] function which displayed the numbers of fields 1, 7
and 8 shifted left one position. Also corrected the [Change] function where
a change to Field 1 was accepted even if that number already existed.

Corrected the wording for the [More][Family] function that stated that prin-
ting could be performed as the MARRIAGE.FMS file was being created.

3.23

FMS.EXE

Added [More][Correct File] to second screen which was the FMSFIX function.

GENE.EXE and FMS.EXE

Modified the [Look for] function to display the data surrounded by
single quotes (e.g. ' ') so that spaces could be discerned.

Made all searches [Look for] [Find] [Set Search] case insensitive so that
the case of the contents of the fields need not be known. This means that
all data may be upper, lower or mixed case and the searches will work.

FMSFIX

This program is no longer required ... use [Correct File] function in
FMS.EXE.

GCHART.EXE

Corrected the printer control (PRINTER.CTL) file input. Program now reads
and uses the controls properly.

FMSSORT

FMSSORT now converts all keys internally to UPPER CASE. To sort in case
sensitive mode then use /L (for lower case) on the command line. This
change is to assure that the order of data is correct if using mixed upper
and lower case.
Please let us know what you feel should be corrected, modified and/or added

3.30

FMS

The report function now selects fields using a "window" for a better user
interface.

FMSSORT

Much improved user interface using "window" to select sort keys.

GENE.EXE

Major change is integrated text editor [More][Editor] which is also stand
alone GEDIT.EXE.

GCHART.EXE

The start up input has been made more user friendly.
