                                                                       Page 1
                       WELCOME TO JOBSEEKER..

A program designed for persons currently unemployed or looking to improve their
job status. As easy as:

        1. FIND IT.. 2. SCHEDULE IT.. 3. TRACK IT..

JobSeekr will remind you when to follow up on positions you wish to track.

WHY A TUTIRIAL?

From personal experience, I learn faster by "doing" than by reading. I will
teach you step by step how to use JobSeekr, some of the extra features and how
to use them. You can judge for yourself how quick and easy this program is to
use.

GETTING STARTED..............

Go through the installation in the READ.ME file if you have not done so.
Starting at the "C" prompt in the directory the program is installed in.

                          "Type" JSS <enter>

You should now be at the Main Menu.

Note: If your system does not have a clock you will be at the screen to set
       the DATE.

                          "Type" in TODAY's DATE <enter>

     1. FIND IT

Look in the newspaper and find an advertisement you wish to respond to,
         use the following example:

                  Company : CMA Leasing
                  Address : P.O. Box 56267, Hayward CA 94545

         installed in.

                         "Type" JSS <enter>

You should now be at the Main Menu, on the screen you will notice
         6 choices:

                  1. Quick Search
                  2. Check for Follow up
                  3. Envelopes Printing
                  4. Reports Menu
                  5. Utilities Menu
                  6. Exit Program

Note: There are HIGHLIGHTED letters on each line. The Utilities Menu
can be accessed by "U" or "5". After using the program for
awhile your speed will improve greatly by using these easy to
                remember keys.

Note: "Speed Keys" You can do the same thing using these that would
otherwise require many keys to do. A list of "Speed Keys" is
available by pressing <F2> at anytime.
HELP is available by pressing <F1> at anytime for on line help.

"Type" "U" to get to the Utility Menu

"Type" "A" to add a record

Enter the information into the fields.

Note: If you make a mistake on the date entry, continue to the end of
the record. When you are asked to "Add Another?" "Type" "N" and
it puts you back into the Utilities Menu. Then "Type" "E" for
                Edit.

CONTACT NAME :"Type" William Trent <enter>
         TITLE : <enter>
         PHONE : <enter>
         PHONE : <enter>
         OPEN PHONE FIELD: <enter>
         FAX : <enter>
COMPANY NAME :"Type" CMA LEASING <enter>
         ADDRESS :"Type" P.O. Box 56267 <enter>
                         :"Type" Hayward <enter>
:"Type" CA (2 letter state code) <enter>
                         :"Type" 94545 <enter>
         LINK :"Type" SMN-01/21/94 <enter>
(You can put anything into this field. Your resources or maybe the
type of position. Personally, I use information to remind me where
I saw the information. SMN-01/21/94 = the San Jose Mercury News on
01/21/94 or PHONEBOOK = information out of the local yellow pages.)
         ACTIVE :"T" <enter>
(This field will be used by the program later if you want to print
lists of things. The program will ask you if you want to print ALL
the listings or just those that are ACTIVE.)
         MAIL :"T" <enter>
(You will want to use this for mailing list, to print labels, or to
            print lists from reports menu.)
         FOLLOW-UP :"T" <enter>
(When you need to call someone back the program will check the date
            field.)
         FOLLOW-UP DATE :"Type" 02/04/94 <enter>
(This is the date you will want to be reminded to send a follow-up
letter or call them. I usually enter a date one week from the day
I mail the resume. This gives the company time to look at my resume
and get back to me. If for some reason they do not, this acts as a
            reminder to make another attempt.)
REMARKS :"Type" anything <enter> until out of Record
(You get 5 lines to say anything you want about the ad or position.)

Note: "ACTIVE", "MAIL", and "FOLLOW-UP" are considered FLAGS. It is
an on/off switch, if the program sees it as "T"/"Y" then that
function will work. The default is automatically set to "T"
and if you don't want it to work then change it to "F"/"N".
"FOLLOW-UP DATE", the default is automatically set to todays
date. Set it to the desired date.

Now you are asked to Add Another? (Y/N) Yes or No. "STOP". If you
want to PRINT an envelope, this is the time to do it. If you do not
have a printer, DO NOT do this step bacause the program will blow up.

"Type" <F5>, "P" or arrow over to print <enter>

(The infromation you just entered will appear on the envelope in the
destination area. Your return address will appear in the sender
area by default. If you wish to change the sender information you
will need to press "R" or <enter> to go to the Return Address Menu.)

When the envelope is thru printing you will automatically be returned
         to the Main Menu.

     3. TRACK IT

CHECKING for Follow-up - From the Main Menu:

                          "Type" "F"
"Type" "D" for today or "M" tomorrow's list of names
"Type" "S" for display to Screen or
                                 "P" for display to Printer

Note: At the Main Menu you could have saved time by using the
"Speed Key" <F9>, to view, or F10>, to print todays list.

It is helpful to print out a working list so calls can be crossed off
as they are made. You can update the file as you make the calls or go
         back over your notes later.

UPDATING the File - From the Main Menu:

                          "Type" "Q" for Quick Search
                          "Type" CM <enter>
(A list comes up with all the companies that start with "CM", if the
one you want is on the top line or the only one listed then you can
continue. If there is more than one listed, you would look over the
list and determine how many characters you need to enter to make the
name unique enough to get it to the top of the list.)
                          "Type" "M" for More Details
(Here the menu is at the bottom of the screen)
"Type" "S" or arrow over to status <enter>
(To update the "Active", "Mail", "Follow-up", Follow-up Date", and
"Status" of this call. If you need to make any changes to client
information you have to use the EDIT mode from the UTILITY Menu.)

Note: For additional information a second page is available by pres-
                sing "N" for NEXT.

PRINTING this call - After "Status" Update:

                          "Type" "M" for More Details
"Type" "P" or arrow over to print <enter>

Note: If you have information on the first line of the NEXT page, a
note will appear on this screen to remind you to check page 2.

EXIT program - After "Status" Update:

                          "Type" "N" for No
                          "Type" "X" for Exit Program

Remember Help is as close as your <F1> key.

I have attempted to keep this as brief as possible and yet cover the main points
of the program. I believe I have given you enough here to get started. Enjoy,
and look for the Users Guide when you purchase the complete JobSeekr program.

I use this same program for my business to remind me to call my customers and
track my sales. It has uses even after you find that NEW Job you seek..

Thank you for taking the time to try this program, I hope it works well for you.

Good Luck..

Chuck Martin ...
