[ANCIENTS] Ancients I: The Deathwatch (FARR-WARE; $24) is a 3-D fantasy adventure game with outstanding graphics. Your party of four characters must explore the city of Locklaven and ultimately enter the dungeon to eradicate an unknown evil. You can visit several shops, bartering for weapons and food and drink. You can try your luck at the Wheel of Despair at the Casino, or toss down some ale at the Dragon Inn. Within the Temple of Healing, the priests can heal your character or even resurrect the dead. Only the proper mixture of magic, wits, and brute strength will prevail against the powers of darkness. A mouse and 1.3+meg of disk space are required. [BANDOR1, BANDOR2, BANDOR3, BANDOR4] Bandor 1.1 (Magic Lemon Software; $20) is a 3-D "Dungeons and Dragons" type graphic adventure game. In your quest to become a hero of Bandor, you will assemble a party of daring adventurers to prevent the evil Storm King's minions from overrunning your city. Visit the armory to obtain weapons, and head to the Training Grounds to improve your fighting skills and increase your magical knowledge. The Priests of P'Tah will offer you healing (for a small fee), and valuable information can be overheard at the Keg & Ale tavern. [BASH] Monster Bash 2.1 (Apogee Software; $39) is a horror adventure/arcade game with gruesome graphics. Johnny Dash must save his dog from the underworld of Count Chuck. We were so impressed with an earlier version, which could be given away but not distributed for a disk fee, that we gave it away for free just so people could see it. [COSMOS] Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure I: Forbidden Planet (Apogee Software Productions; $20) Cosmo is a lovable little alien with green skin, red hair, and suction cups for hands. He and his family were on their way to Earth to when their ship was struck by a blazing comet, forcing them to land on a mysterious uncharted planet. His parents soon turn up missing, and he is forced to journey across a forbidden planet full of dangers and surprises. This game features multi-scrolling graphics, loads of animated creatures, Ad Lib/SoundBlaster compatible music and sound effects, joystick support, game save/restore options, and much more. [CRYSTL1, CRYSTL2] Crystal Caves Vol. 1 (Apogee Software; $15-$33) (Episode: Troubles with Tribbles) is an action packed arcade game from the makers of Duke Nukum and Commander Keen. This game includes arcade-quality puzzles and EGA/VGA graphics, screen effects, arcade sounds, joystick support and more. As Mylo Steamwitz, you'll explore the planets of Altair in search of vast treasures. In some levels of this game, Mylo will walk up-side-down. In other levels, there is such low gravity that the recoil from Mylo's laser pistol can knock him into other dangers. [DARKAGES] Dark Ages: Price of Destiny Vol. I (Scenario Software; $15) is a splendid animated, scrolling, arcade game in which you rescue the Great Kingdom as you try to survive traps and creatures. Background music consists of eight original theme songs which require an Ad Lib or Sound Blaster card. The graphics are very good and require EGA or VGA. The scrolling animation requires a 286 or faster CPU. [DUKENUKM] Duke Nukum (Apogee Software; $15) is a top-quality arcade game from the publishers of Commander Keen. In addition to arcade-quality EGA/VGA graphics, Duke Nukum features four-way scrolling scenes, arcade sound effects, joystick support and much more. In addition to the usual running, jumping and weapon firing, the Duke can do somersaults and use hooks to walk on ceilings. The game has over one meg of animation and graphics. Requires 640k, EGA/VGA and a hard drive. [DUKEED] DukeEdit 1.6 is an easy way of finding your way through the dangerous world of Duke Nukum. [ELECBODY] ElectroBODY 1.2 (XLanD-ADAMIK; $29) You are Jack, a cyborg with the brain and qualities of a human, but in a high-tech body and with powerful weapons. Jack must fight to get back the spaceship that was invaded by the robots that killed his family. Requires EGA/VGA. [FGODMOM] F. GodMom 4.0 (Blackwell, John; $5-$20) is an arcade/logic game in which you play a fairy godmother on a mission to free fifty of your fellow fairy godmothers. Your only weapons are your wits and a magic wand of transformation, and you must make your way across fifty levels while avoiding killer crabs and dangerous dimensional implosions. [HUGO1] Hugo's House of Horrors (Gray Design Associates ASP; $20) is a challenging adventure game that uses a combination of colorful 3-D animated graphics and text. You control Hugo's destiny as he tries to rescue his sweetheart, Penelope, who is imprisoned inside the haunted house. EGA and over 900K of disk space is required. (Don't ask us for advice; we couldn't get past the Mad Scientist.) [HUGO2] Hugo II: Whodunit? (Gray Design Associates ASP; $20) is an animated 3D adventure game by the authors of Hugo's House of Horrors. This time a murder mystery is afoot with a couple of fiendish twists and a large helping of humor along the way. There's a revolving bookcase, a saucey French maid, a murderer, and lots more with many different screens and characters. Requires EGA, 360K, and over 900K of disk space. [HUGO3] Hugo III: Jungle of Doom (Gray Design Associates ASP; $24) is the third installment of this popular adventure game series. Can Hugo outwit the evil witch-doctor, find the mysterious pool of life, and finally defeat his arch-enemy the Old Man? The game features excellent EGA/VGA graphics, a turbo mode for high-speed exploring, built-in hints, and much more. Requires 400K RAM and 1 meg of hard disk space. [HWJOGGER] Heavy Water Jogger 1.0 (Viable Software Alternatives; $20) you must attempt to prevent meltdown of a nuclear plant. As Fred Fluke, jogger extraordinaire, you must avoid robots, jump pits, avoid radiation sickness, keep from getting your Reeboks wet, and locate keycards to find the control room to stop a disaster. The 256-color graphics require VGA or better video. This game also requires 512K, a hard drive, and a 286+. [JILL] Jill of the Jungle (Epic MegaGames ASP; $15) is a professional quality, arcade game with 16 levels of play. The game features scrolling VGA/EGA/CGA graphics, great sound effects, game save option, joystick support and a musical sound track for Sound Blaster compatible cards. As Jill, you run, jump, swim, climb and sometimes fly through the jungle, eating apples to stay healthy, killing animated monsters, and collecting keys to open doors and gems to open gates. There are secret icons that transform Jill into other creatures, such as birds, fish, and frogs. With games of this quality, we don't see how anyone ever gets any work done on a computer any more. Requires 286+, 512K and DOS 3.0+. [KEN1, KEN2, KEN3] Ken's Labyrinth (Epic MegaGames ASP; $34) is a 3D, virtual reality, adventure game. Aliens from the planet Zogar have kidnapped your dog Sparky and placed you in a 10-level labyrinth. You must battle mechanical spiders, robotic soldiers and moving holes to rescue your dog. It features hi-res graphics, music, digital sound, and support for a joystick and mouse. Requires VGA, 512K and a 386 or faster. [HELIUS] Helious I (Puckett, Sean M.; $12) is a strategy arcade game. Features include nine levels of gameplay, beautiful graphics, and joystick support. The object is to move an air-filled ball around by releasing it's air in any of four directions, collecting all the blue gems and the team flag. You will encounter many other weird symbols along the way. When you finish a level, you're presented with a symbol. To win the game, you must match the nine symbols with each of the nine levels. Requires a 386 or better and 640K RAM. [KEEN] Commander Keen Volume 1 (Apogee Software; $15) is a richly complex run-jump-explore type game with high quality EGA/VGA smooth scrolling graphics. Animation is done at 60 frames per second (motion picture cartoons are filmed at only 24 frames per second). The story behind Commander Keen is amusing and entertaining. This is definitely one of the top quality games in shareware. Requires EGA/VGA, 520k RAM. A joystick is optional. [KDREAMS] Keen Dreams (Gamer's Edge; $15) is another exciting installment in the continuing adventures of Commander Keen. In this episode you must defeat the evil King Boobus Tuber and his endless army of killer vegetables and fruits. You will face Tater Troopers, Sour Grapes, Broccolashes, Asparagustos, and a host of other organic foes as you explore the vegetarian Land of Tuberia. The game features beautiful scrolling backgrounds, AdLib Sound Blaster effects, keyboard and joystick support, high score display, and incredible animation that even the most die-hard Nintendo fan will appreciate. It contains excellent high-speed EGA/VGA graphics and animation with over 1.6 meg of action packed cinematic sequences. In this episode Commander Keen again wanders the Shadowlands and must save the galaxy from hordes of hilarious (but deadly) aliens. [LASTHALF] The Last Half of Darkness (Soft Lab; $22) Your strange Aunt (rumored to be a witch) has recently died while working on a powerful magic potion. You are her only living relative and you can gain title to her estate and fortune if you continue her studies in the field of magic. Thus begins an excellent adventure, as you search the creepy old house for the missing ingredients to the magic potion. The graphics are really nice, and scary sounds and actual talking can be heard through your PC speaker. Sound Blaster support is provided for enhanced sound effects. Use of a mouse speeds game play along, but is not required. EGA/VGA and a hard disk are required. [ORION] Orion Odyssey (Dalrymple, Billy; $10) With your jetpack firmly strapped to your back, you must try to accumulate as many points as possible while destroying alien beings and finding and using useful artifacts. You must also monitor your health status, fuel consumption, and ammunition. Flying is extremely tricky, and inertia and gravity must be taken into consideration. This is a very challenging game with excellent graphics. You will have to work pretty hard just to find all the parts of the game. Requires 512K free RAM, EGA/VGA, and 1.5 meg of hard disk space. [OXYD_V39] Oxyd 3.9 (Dongleware Publishing, Inc.; $39) is an incredible arcade/puzzle game. Only you can save the world from suffocation by opening all the oxygen-producing "Oxyds". Through increasingly devious landscapes you must open each Oxyd by matching patterns and colors. Along the way you'll find umbrellas to prevent you from free-falling to your doom, dynamite and bombs to blast through walls, laser cannons to disintegrate objects, and much more. Features include being able to play with a friend via modems, sound card support, a timed game option, and the ability to restart a level if you make too many errors. This archive includes Hercules, EGA, and VGA versions. The program requires 512K EMS to use a sound card and 1 meg EMS to run the souped-up 256-color VGA version. This is an excellent game, with highly imaginative graphics. [PAGAN_1, PAGAN_2] Paganitzu Part 1 (Apogee Software; $15-$33) (episode: Romancing the Rose) is an adventure/arcade game with an incredible cinematic ending and an epic story. You're an adventurer like Indiana Jones, trapped in a dangerous Aztec pyramid, full of secret rooms, creatures, artifacts, and traps. There are 20 chambers. It has vivid EGA/VGA graphics (plus CGA support), joystick support, arcade sound effects and much more. Requires 500K and a hard disk or high density floppy. [PIPES_RP] Pipes (Person, Roy Sr.; $10) is an action/arcade game. Your Robot Drone must stop the water leaks underground, kill the monsters, and collect the gold. The game has great graphics and is fun to play. Features include joystick support, sound effects and 4-way scrolling screens. Requires a 286+ and VGA. [RED_ROCK] Secret Agent: The Hunt for Red Rock Rover (Apogee Software; $15-$30) You are a government agent whose mission is to parachute into a high-security island outpost and get back the plans to the ultimate satellite laser weapon. [ROBOMAZ2] Robomaze II volume 1 - The Lobby 1.1 (MVP Software ASP; $15-$30) lets you control the Stalker Robot to fight against the tyrannical Dictator's fearsome forces. You have 40 dangerous rooms to explore in the Tower, picking up money, ammo, and keys to further your progress. You can use the keyboard or a joystick and save and recall games. This is a professionally done arcade style game, with excellent graphics. [ROBOMAZ3] Robomaze III volume 1 - The Dome (MVP Software ASP; $20) lets you control the Stalker Robot to fight against the tyrannical Dictator's fearsome forces. Complete the quest that began in Robomaze II. There are new enemies, underground caves and hideouts to explore. This is a top-notch game with excellent graphics. EGA/VGA required. [SIMSPACE] SIMSpace (Rockland Software Productions; $35) is a spaceship flight and combat simulator. The screen is the bridge and all the controls work via a mouse. You must complete as many missions as you can before you die. Features include photo quality bitmapped and rendered graphics with digital and FM sound, many types of planets, wormholes, matter movers, shuttles and over 250 different types of missions. Requires VGA, mouse, 3-9MB of disk space and a sound card. [SILCITY] Silicon City 2.5d (Lyric Software Co.; $22) is an interesting 3D strategy game. Due to massive over population, all of the Earth's people have been digitized and transferred to a large computer universe. Your job is to rescue the helpless inhabitants of Silicon City from a deadly virus that has infected the incubators. This game features excellent EGA/VGA graphics. A mouse is recommended. [SQUEST2] Sword Quest 2 (NGS Software; $12) is a fantasy role-playing game based in a world of dragons, knights, and magic. Your quest is to free a world from the power of an evil dragon king. During pursuit, you are challenged by many divergent monsters and confusing puzzles. You get hints from people in towns you encounter, learn magical spells, and find hidden items. It features Adlib/Sound Blaster music support. Requires EGA/VGA. [SOLAR1, SOLAR2] Solar Winds 1: The Escape (Epic MegaGames ASP; $34) is a gripping action-filled quest through outer space. You are Jake Stone (renowned interstellar bounty hunter) and you must discover the secret of your past and the mystery of a distant human race from across the galaxy, while blasting away at hostile alien attackers. EGA/VGA required. [ARCTIC] Arctic Adventure vol.1 2.0 (ARCTIC) (Micro F/X Software; $10) is another installment in the exciting Nevada Smith adventure series. You start on the arctic map and must find your way around the hazardous ice caves, searching for the remaining fragments of a map that will eventually lead you to the location of the hidden treasure cave. Nevada will face freezing waters, diabolical traps, slippery ice patches, falling stalactites, runaway snowballs, and even the Abominable Snowman. CGA only. [CRUSHER] Crusher (Soleau, William; $12) is an adventure, arcade, and strategy game in one. You must avoid monsters; gather oxygen, bombs, and diamonds; find secret spies and rescue beautiful women. There are 25 different scenes. Requires EGA/VGA. [CRUSHER2] Crusher Castle II 1.1 (Soleau, William; $12) is the sequel to Crusher, the adventure strategy game. [FIRST_EX] First Expedition (Englestad, Steve ASP; $24) is a seagoing graphic adventure game. You are an explorer navigating and searching out old and new islands in a fantasy ocean world of sea monsters, storms, and mazes. Each day is about an eight-minute period. The world being explored is 20,000 by 20,000 units. Longitude and latitude are measured by these coordinates. Navigation is done by the night stars. [GLDHUNT] GoldHunt 1.1 (Soleau, William; $12) try to pick up the pots of gold as you avoid the deadly sensors and roaming Red Devils. There are 10 different levels in this game, and it is very challenging. EGA or VGA is required. [HOGBEAR] HogBear (Hogbear Software, Inc.; $10) is an adventure text/graphics game fashioned after the game of CASTLE. A few interesting twists have been added to the game. The monsters can be reincarnated at random and you'll have to watch out for the Hogbear! Other features are a save-as-you-play mode and the ability to toggle sound on and off. [INSANITY] Insanity (Wizard Games; $20) is a huge maze-based adventure game where insanity rules. Find clues, solve puzzles and try to stay alive where the unexpected is common, and pandemonium is at every turn. This is a highly challenging and entertaining game suitable for all of the family. [KINGDOM] Kingdom of Kroz II (Miller, Scott; $8) is a combination of arcade action, strategy, and adventure game exploration and trial and error. Some of the features include creature animation, flowing lava, sideways levels, magic (both good and bad), many special effects, and built-in instructions. [KROZ] Lost Adventures of Kroz (Apogee Software; $22) is the seventh volume of the Kroz series of games. It has 75 unique play fields (screens) of action, exploration and puzzle-solving. The player assumes the role of a dauntless adventurer, armed with only a whip for protection. Each level has specific hazards to overcome, plus as many as 1000 creatures. Features include flowing lava, spears, moving boulders, growing forests, creature animation, moving walls, gravity, diary screens, multiple game saves, a permanent high score chart and many more. Some levels are played from a bird's-eye view, while others are played as if viewing from the side. Color and graphics are not required, but a color monitor will add a lot to the game. [LORRI] The Rescue of Lorri in Lorrinitron (BC Software; $5) is a graphic adventure game in which the beautiful Princess Lorri has been kidnapped, and your services are required by the King to rescue her. You must recruit allies in your quest, fight the denizens of darkness, and face unknown danger at every step. The screen is normally a window that pans across the countryside as you move. When you enter a village or castle, the screen zooms in for more detail. EGA/VGA and over 900K of disk space are required. [MAJIK] Quick Majik Adventure (Neurosport; $37) is a graphical adventure game with spells, monsters and magic items. It offers detailed, colorful VGA and EGA graphics, but it will work on CGA systems too. Requires a hard disk or high density disk. [MORFWRLD] Moraff's World 7.0 (Moraffware; $?) is a fantastic 3-D maze adventure game. This is a massive extension and improvement of Moraff's Revenge. It has 16 levels of dungeons and 20 classes of monsters, and provides a panoramic 360-degree view of the surrounding dungeons. As you explore different areas, a map of where you have been is revealed. The outstanding graphics are compatible with many video configurations, from monochrome to Super VGA. 640K RAM is required, and a 286 or faster machine is recommended. [MYTHMSTR] MythMaster (Standley, Carol L.; $25) is a vagabond's adventure in 3-D. As Anton Schlepp, you must change your vagrant image to likable young hero MythMaster. You'll explore a kingdom of over 70 locations, talk with many characters and perform deeds. You will also encounter some danger on your quest. As you solve puzzles, your score will increase as it is compared to the total points possible in the game. Requires EGA/VGA, 384K RAM, and 2.5 meg of hard disk space. A joystick is optional. [PROSPCT] Prospector 1.0 (Chapel, Lee; $25) is an interesting arcade game with excellent graphics and play. You must guide the prospector through a 10 level gold mine, picking up gold nuggets, negotiating obstacles such as elevators and conveyor belts, and avoiding the various creatures living in the mine. Requires an EGA/VGA. [PTOMB] Pharoah's Tomb Vol. 1 3.0 (Broussard, George ASP; $25) lets you travel through a pyramid, trying to avoid various monsters and traps. You will find various objects throughout the game that can be used, but you must figure out what they do. This is a well-designed game with excellent graphics. [REVENGE] Moraff's Revenge Beginner (MoraffWare; $0) is a 3d maze adventure game in which you must explore dungeons, fighting monsters and searching for goodies. [ROVER] Rescue Rover! (Softdisk Publishing; $15) is an arcade style puzzler. You must solve intricate puzzles and concoct clever schemes to free your dog Rover from evil robots. Requires 640K RAM and EGA/VGA. [UNFORG1, UNFORG2] Moraff's Dungeons of the Unforgiven I 1.1 (MoraffWare; $?) is a dungeons and monsters game. You battle flying monsters, female warriors, and water creatures. It features realistic 3D imaging, built-in help, and support for Hercules to Super-VGA video. Requires a hard disk or high density floppy. [VOLCANO] Volcano Hunter (Informative Technologies ASP; $10) requires you to explore 200 screens of cities, mountains and caverns looking for gold while avoiding monsters, lava, water-filled caverns, sudden drops and time bombs. Meanwhile you have to traverse conveyor belts, moving platforms, beamers, secret doors and ladders. Requires VGA. You will need to read the documentation before trying this one. [DAS16] Denarius Avaricius Sextus 1.6 (Thorsoft; $15) is a graphical adventure game about a red-haired Roman named Avaricius. Avvy must make his way through Pompeii, escaping lions, blackmailers, and his nagging wife. Features include integrated shoot-'em-up, menu or command control, boss key, save/restore, and corny jokes. Requires EGA/VGA and 1.4MB disk space. -----Mystery Adventures: [DRACULA] Dracula In London (SDJ Enterprises, Inc.; $9) recreates all the suspense and horror of Bram Stoker's original novel. In this game you assume the role of a vampire hunter. Explore haunted mansions and much more. [METRO] Metropolis [Lori Johnson; $20] is an interactive game in which you must investigate and solve crimes in the teeming city of Metropolis. This game is a cross between Blade Runner and Tron, taking place in a futuristic, pixel-sized world. -----Caves & Dungeons: [CASTLE] Castle Escape (Jarrett, Eric; $5-$12) You must find your way out of a gloomy dungeon. You will need to obtain items along your journey to accomplish certain tasks, but you must be careful not to get the wrong items or use these items at the wrong moment. EGA/VGA and over 1 meg of disk space are required. [CAVETHOR] Caves of Thor Volumn 1 (Replogle, Todd; $10) is a 16-color arcade/adventure game with a four-way scrolling playfield. You discover a vast underground empire, an immense network of caves, passages, and chambers on an expedition in the icy mountains of Norway. Overcome the many creatures that patrol it. It features great music and hazards such as lava pits, a Thor Beast, and flowing streams. [PHAROAH] Pharoah's Tomb (George Broussard; $25) which lets you travel through a pyramid, trying to avoid various monsters and traps. [MORIA1, MORIA2] Moria (Koeneke, Robert A. and Wilson, James E.; $0) is a single-player dungeon simulation. A player may choose from a number of races and classes when creating their character, and then run that character over a period of days, weeks, even months; attempting to win the game by defeating the Balrog which lurks in the deeper levels. The player will begin his adventure on the town level where he may acquire supplies, weapons, armor, and magical devices by bartering with various shop owners. The game of MORIA is a complicated and challenging game, and will require a dedicated player to win. Requires 640k and a hard disk. [KAIRN] Dungeons of Kairn (Lawrence, Mike; $15) is an exciting fantasy adventure game. You are to find the three lost artifacts of power that could destroy Kairn. When you have recovered all three of the remaining Artifacts, venture to the Island of Mysterion and destroy the Mad Mage Inshanis. An optional initiative system causes monsters and characters to act on an individual basis. -----Space "Trek" Games: [CTREK] CTrek 1.1 (Martin, T. Wendell Jr.; $0) is a fairly simple game of space ship-to-ship combat designed to utilize the capabilities of Covox's Speech Thing and Voice Master Key. You can play it without either product, but either one will greatly increase your enjoyment of the game. It's nice to be able to pace back and forth, barking orders and receiving verbal reports (and hearing actual sounds from the show) instead of sitting hunched over a keyboard, reading a screen and listening to random Beeps. [DSS] Dueling Starships A.00.00 (D'Angelo and Dea; $15) is a two-player real-time battle between opposing starships. The computer screen and keyboard are split in half allowing the captains of both starships to play simultaneously. [PDTREK25] PDTrek 2.5 (McLawhorn, Carl; $?) is about as far removed from the old non-graphics mainframe "Star Trek" games as the Enterprise is from a row boat. It has great graphics. [EGATrek] EGATrek (Anderson, Nels ASP; $15) is based on the classic space "Trek" games but takes full advantage of the high resolution of the EGA display. The further back you go in playing Star Trek on old clunkers like the TRS-80 or old mainframes, the more you will appreciate the color and graphics of this version. Expanded help screens are provided, and replays are allowed. [VTREK] Visual Trek ($0) is a "Trek" type game. This is a beta version with no documentation, but anyone familiar with Trek type games should not have any trouble figuring it out. The program uses VGA graphics and sound and has many interesting features. A mouse is required and is used to issue all commands. As the mouse cursor passes over an object (planet, star, Klingon ship, etc.), a description of the object appears. You move the Enterprise by clicking on the desired location. [IGB] Intra-Galactic Battles (Hause, William D.; $10) is a detailed and sophisticated "Trek" type of game. It features great sound effects and beautiful graphics on EGA/VGA of up to 640x480 resolution and 16 colors. One player can battle computer controlled ship(s) or play against other human players. Even the documentation, which describes the state of the known universe, makes for interesting reading. [TRBOTREK] Turbo Trek (JDG Simulations, Inc.; $15) puts you in charge of a starship in combat. You can choose from a variety of scenarios and how to allocate energy among the ship's devices. You can also design your own scenarios. You can play against the computer or against other players. Requires EGA/VGA and a mouse. [SHADES] Space Shades (Frank, Rich; $10-$31) is a 3D space flight simulator game that places you in the cockpit of a Space Cruiser. You control your cruiser, a space station, and a spy remote while exploring planets in preparation for your encounter with a hostile enemy. There are graphics (including EGA/VGA), color text and monochrome text modes. You can optionally play with a friend via a modem. Requires 340k. [ULT_UNIV] Ultimate Universe 1.5 (Bigelow, Garth; $18) is a space-trade war game. Features include customizable ship with which to defend, explore and conquer the universe, and ability to create your ship from over 400 devices and specialty items. It can be set up on a BBS and up to 28 players may compete in a single campaign, but a BBS system is not required to play it. -----Game Makers Also see ADVEN_TX for making text-only adventure games. [DCGAMES1, DCGAMES2] DC Games 3.0 (DC Software; $45) allows you to create graphical adventure and role playing games. This system supports for up to 1000 worlds with 500 characters or objects per world; predefined scripts for a variety of character types and classes, object types and classes and world types; graphic files for CGA, EGA, VGA and TANDY screens; and a script programming language to modify just about every aspect of the game. Other features include Sound Blaster voice, music and text to-speech drivers; PCX graphics; execution of DOS programs under script control; and utilities to convert graphics, print reports, and create voice files. A sample adventure game with Sound Blaster files is included. [QSMKR22] QuestMaker (Marietta Co-opware; $23) lets you play, modify and make your own animated graphical adventure games using QuestMaker editors in conjunction with a PCX compatible paint program. You can display an unlimited number of graphics during game play, and the program allows players to examine things closer, like maps, objects, and letters. Requires EGA/VGA, 512K, a hard disk and DOS 3+. A sample tutorial game is included.
