                     RETEN, SMADA, and OPSEW

These programs were created to aid students and professionals in the
field of stormwater management. They were created by Ron Eaglin and
M. P. Wanielista. They are distributed via shareware. Proceeds from
registration of the programs goes into the creation of more programs
and into the printing of the documentation for the programs.

The creators of these programs assume no responsibility for the use or
misuse of the programs.

There are three programs contained on this disk. The install will create
an SWATER directory and create three subdirectories under this main
directory. The programs included are the following:

SMADA - Stormwater Management and Design Aid
This programs assists the user in the creation of rainfall hydrographs, it
allows the user to interactively create, save, and retrieve watershed,
rainfall, and hydrograph files. It allows for multiple methods of hydrograph
generation. The program also allows the user to perform pond, canal, and pipe
routing of this hydrograph.

OPSEW - OPtimal SEWer design package
OPSEW is a program designed to allow the user to interactively design
simple sewer networks. It will print out the Florida DOT spreadsheet used
in sewer permits. It can handle partial, full and surcharged flow. It will
perform a number of hydraulic calculations, calculate hydraulic grades based
on any number of assumptions, and will output to screen, printer, or disk.

RETEN - Pollutant, Reuse, Exfilitration, Swale design
This program contains a number of design routines ranging from pollutant
loading for multiple landuse watersheds to exfiltration system design to
the design of water reuse systems. The program is mouse and menu driven
and is easy to use for water resources professionals.

Extensive documentation is available for all three programs including
a discussion of the theory and a number of example problems for each
of the routines contained in the programs.

DISTRIB - This program fits rainfall or flow data to a type of
random distribution. At present time this data must be entered into a
text file and retrieved into the program (I haven't gotten around to
putting the edit routine in yet.) The graphics require a VGE/EGA monitor.
You can also perform chi-square analysis and perform point prediction and
frequency predictions.

REGRESS - A statistical analysis program which I originally wrote
to help me do my statistics homework, REGRESS has proven most useful to
myself and my colleagues. The program performs a regression analysis
using a variety of models. It IS limited to 2 parameter regressions (the
most common kind), despite this limitation it is extremely easy to use
and is quite useful. The user should have some knowledge of regression
analysis.

PERMIT - This program is very similar to SMADA, it allows the user
to define pre and post condition watersheds and to route the post watershed
to a pond. The pond is defined by a stage-storage-discharge relationship
which you may either input OR have the computer calculate from weir
information. The program was written to assist me in analyzing stormwater
permits.
