TripFinder data files are updated via the TripFinder Computer Bulletin Board Service. Callers must be registered as licensed users prior to log- ging on. To register, see the registration form at the end of this section. -------------------------------------------- TripFinder comes complete with "Trip/Lync", its own built in communications software. The communications software may be accessed directly from the Main Menu (choice number <6>). The first time number <6> "Bulletin Board Access" is chosen, Trip/Lync requires that configuration parameters be verified, which COM port is being used, the baud rate of the modem, etc. This information is automatically saved to a configuration file and all subsequent choices of number <6> on the Main Menu directly access the Trip/Lync dialing directory. Trip/Lync is a full featured communications module that is suitable for all data communications needs and not limited just to TripFinder BBS access. -- Page Down to Continue -- The TripFinder BBS supports high speed modems. All nodes are 14,400 baud with V.32 bis. Callers may logon at rates of 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 14,400, 19,200 or 38,400 baud. TripLync baud rate defaults are 2400. To change the baud rate, dit the phone number in the dialing directory to reflect the higher rate, press to save the change (TripLync does not list 14,400; use 19,200 if you have a 14,400 modem). When accessing the BBS for the first time, the user is required to enter their first and last name, EXACTLY as given when initially registering as a user. "TRIPFINDER" is the initial password. It is important that you then proceed to the our Settings option to change the password to a unique one, and make any other changes and/or corrections necessary. The Trip- Finder BBS consists of two different systems; one for trip data downloads and one for uploading the reservations/communications form. Procedure for logging on is the same for both boards. You should use the same password and personal user settings for each board. Your personal password will be required to logon to the BBS in all subsequent attempts and should be kept private. Once logged on to the BBS, simple menus and easy to follow instructions are provided for downloading update files, requesting trip reservations and other communications functions.
