readme.txt E32Frodo version 0.25 --------------------- This is short instructions for how to use Frodo for Epoc32. Frodo is a Commodore 64 emulator written by Christian Bauer for Amiga, and ported to Epoc32 by Jal Panvel & Alfred E. Heggestad in the period Nov. 1999 to Jan 2000. Frodo is ported to many platforms, inluding Win32, Unix, Linux, BeOS, etc. The emulation is line-based, which means that a lot of demos which uses X-raster split will look ugly. But most of the games does not use these kinds of features... The SID-emulation is also skipped, but will be in the next version. =================== Important! =================== If you have a EPOC machine with 16 colors, try the e32frodo_v24_16colors.sis version If you have a EPOC machine with 256 colors, try the e32frodo_v24_256colors.sis version ==================== How to install ==================== Method 1: Start e32frodo_xxx.sis on your Windows PC. Follow the insructions. Method 2: Copy the e32frodo_xxx.sis file to your Psion Series 5. Click on it. (likely to stay below 100% :) --------- Joystick: Arraw keys and space emulates the Joystick, either 1, 2 or both. Choose in Prefs. Caps-Lock has to be switched on for the Joysticks to work. (Fn+TAB for Series5) ==================== How to report ==================== If you feel that you have some feedback, you can report back to edmund@roland.org or e32frodo@pansoftware.com What you can do to test the Emulator, is to try alot of different games and demos on it. It supports .D64 and .T64 files which can easily be fetched from the World Wide Web, for free. Also include information about your machine: -Type -Software version -Processor -Speed -ROM size -RAM size -Screen resolution -Number of colors -and more If you find bugs or things to improve, please include info about: -which program you were running -what happened -is it reproducable? -where to get the app (or just send it to us) -current consumption when the app is running ==================== How to enjoy ==================== When the emulator is abit more stable, you can enjoy the Power of running one of the best machines from the 80's on the best Handheld machine from the 90's.
