Obtaining Trial Software
If you'd like to try a Mobli product before purchasing it, you can download a
free trial copy. The trial versions of Mobli software either have limitations
that the full versions do not have, or they are timed to expire after a certain
period. Downloading trial versions of Mobli software is a great way to discover
if one of our products is right for you, but to fully enjoy all the
functionality of the product, you should download a full version.
To download a trial version of a Mobli product, click the "Try" button in the
product description.
Downloading Mobli Software
All Mobli products are downloadable from our site. You will not be shipped
your product via regular mail; instead, you will have to download it. When you
purchase a product at Mobli, you will be e-mailed a link and a registration
code. Follow the link to the download page and download the product. Enter the
registration code the first time you run the program on your handheld device.
If you are still having difficulty downloading your software,
If you are still having problems with software you have already
downloaded,
How
to decompress Mobli software
Files downloaded from our site, like most files on the Internet, come in a
compressed format with a Zip file extension. Compressed archives allow us to put
numerous files (the program, documentation files, registration info, etc.) into
one file and to compress them for a faster download. These files must be
decompressed before they can be loaded on your handheld device. To do so, you
must have a decompression utility. For Windows, suitable choices include WinZip,
ZipMagic, and 123Zip. Once you have installed a decompression utility,
decompress the file you downloaded from Mobli.com.
When you decompress files, make sure to keep track of where your software has
been saved.
How to Install Mobli Software
What
You Need
Enough storage space on your handheld for the software that you are
installing.
A connection between the device and desktop computer.

Palm
OS Users
We recommend that you place your files in the Pilot Add-On folder that is a
subdirectory of your Pilot folder. In most configurations this will be located
at c:\pilot\add-on. There may be a documentation file for the program you want
to load also, be sure to read it first! Most programs only require that you load
the files with .prc and .pdb extensions using the Install Tool that comes with
your Palm OS device.
Once you have downloaded the software to your desktop computer and
decompressed it, you need to schedule it for HotSync or Active Sync to your
handheld device. The easiest way to accomplish this is by using the installation
utility that came with your handheld. Use the following steps, according to the
desktop platform you are using:
Install Tool, Palm Desktop 2.x or 3.x for Windows
Start the tool
If you are using PalmPilot Desktop 2.0 or earlier: Click Start, Programs,
PalmPilot Desktop, PalmPilot Install Tool
If you are using the PalmPilot 3.0 Desktop the Install Tool is located on
the left side of the Desktop Screen Click the "Add..." or "Browse" button
Browse to the directory you placed the decompressed .prc and/or .pdb
file(s), highlight the file, and Click Open, then Click Install. Installation utilities are quite simple to use and will allow you to select
the .pdb and .prc files you wish to transfer to your Palm Pilot. The next time
you put your Palm Pilot in its cradle and select "HotSync," your new software
will automatically be installed. Check your Palm Pilot's application launcher to
confirm that your new software has been added. If you cannot find the
application on the launcher, check it is there using the built-in "memory app",
and make sure you have any additional programs required to view or run the
application, such as TealDoc, AportisDoc or J-File.
Pocket PC Users
If the file is an installer, the installation wizard will begin. Follow
the directions on the screen. Once the software has been installed on your
desktop computer, the installer will automatically transfer the software to
your device.
If the file is not an installer, you will see an error message stating
that the program is valid but it is designed for a different type of
computer. You will need to move this file to your device. If you cannot find
any installation instructions for the program in the Read Me documentation,
use ActiveSync to copy the program file to the Program Files folder on your
device. Once the software is on your device, the Setup program will put an icon in
the Programs folder on your device, or in a sub-folder if chosen (like Games).
Run the program by tapping its icon.
Symbian Users
Program files are supplied to us in many different formats by our vendors.
This variation will affect how you will install the program after you've
downloaded it to your computer.
Setup kits or installation kits are programs that will automatically install
to your machine with the push of a button. All the files are grouped together
and compressed into one file (usually called "setup.exe" or "install.exe") and
when clicked, expand to put all the files in their correct place.
MAC USERS: *.exe files don't run on Macintosh computers, and these files
should therefore be installed according to the explanation beneath.
SIS Files: These files can be clicked to start an automatic installation
program (PsiWin or PsiMac).
NOTE: You may need to upgrade your PsiWin or PsiMac connectivity package to
install certain types of files. To upgrade your software visit the Psion
Computers Web site www.psion.com/downloads/psiwin2.html.
When you have installed PsiWin, a "My Psion" icon appears on your Windows
desktop, alongside "My Computer."
If you have PsiWin 2.1 or above, just double-click on the file to launch EPOC
Install on the PC itself and to complete the installation of the software. Or
drag and drop the file between your desktop window and your Psion desktop
available in PsiWin.
If the file you want to install is not .SIS or .EXE, then try using the
"Install New Program" function in PsiWin.
If you have the older PsiWin 2.01 or if you've downloaded the software
directly onto the Psion, the best way to proceed is to copy the file into a
suitable place on your Psion. If the file appears on the system screen with a
question mark beside it, this means you haven't yet upgraded your Psion to
accept EPOC install files. You then need to install the INSTEXE.EXE program to
your Psion and open it. You should now see a nice little icon beside the
software and can tap on it to complete your installation. Repeat this process
for the other files.
How
to Use Mobli Software
Most of Mobli's software comes with an electronic manual that appears on your
device. In most cases you can also print out a copy of the manual. Also, most
products offer their own Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document. You can find
all available FAQs and manuals under individual product descriptions. To return
to the product list for your platform, click on one of these platform links:

How
to Uninstall Mobli Software
If you find that you no longer need a particular program (or if you are
trying to conserve memory), removing software from your Handheld is quite
simple.
NOTE: Before you delete a program, be sure you have a copy of the original
program on CD, floppy disk, or your desktop PC for later use and reinstallation.
Palm
OS Users
On the Palm III and newer models:
From your applications launcher, tap the "Menu" icon
Go to the "App" menu and choose "Delete"
Locate the program or data you are trying to remove, select it and delete
it.
Confirm your request by tapping "Yes"
To return to the application launcher, tap "Done" and confirm that the
application you deleted no longer appears. The application or data should now be deleted from your Palm Handheld memory.
Although you may have deleted the program from your handheld, it may have
been archived in your desktop backup folder. If this is so, every time you
HotSync, the program or data will be reinstalled on your handheld. You can
permanently delete the file by following these steps:
For Palm Desktop for Windows:
Open your Windows Explorer on your
PC.
Open the Palm(tm) Desktop software folder (probably named "Palm" or
"Pilot").
Open your user account folder (look for your Palm HotSync(tm)
name).
Open the "Backup" folder.
Locate the program that you are trying to
remove and delete it from the directory.
The program should no longer be on
your handheld next time you perform a HotSync operation.

warning screen.
Symbian Users
Tap "System" in the lower-left corner.
Tap "Control Panel."
Open the "Add/remove" icon.
Mark the software you wish to remove.
Click "Remove."
Confirm that you want to delete the application by tapping "Yes" on the
warning screen Note: An "Add/Remove" icon (install/uninstall) should be added to the Control
Panel on your Psion, the first time you install a new program on your handheld
from your PC via PsiWin.

SideCalc Version
1.0
A mini calculator and a
powerful Business & Finance calculator
for most Epoc machines:
-
Psion Series 5 and 5mx, revo, revo plus, Series 7, NetBook
- Ericsson
MC218
- Diamond Mako
- GeoFOX One.
SideCalc is a mimic of the
Calc standard application of Psion
Series 5. The difference is that it takes
only a fraction of
the screen surface...
With its "BusFin" screens,
SideCalc is also an original and
powerful Business and Finance calculator.
Press Ctrl+P...
See Changes.txt for changes from older
versions.
Installation:
To install SideCalc, double-click on the
file SideCalc.SIS
on your PC (if PsiWin 2.x or later is installed). Or
double-click
SideCalc.SIS on your Epoc machine (if there is an Add/Remove
icon
in the Control panel).
Operation:
Start SideCalc like any
other application, from the Extras
toolbar. See the online Help (command Menu
> Tools > Help)
for instructions.
Pocket Folio for
Epoc Version 1.0
Management of a portfolio of
shares on an Epoc machine:
- Psion Series 5 and 5mx, revo, revo plus, Series
7, NetBook
- Ericsson MC218
- Diamond Mako
- GeoFOX
One.
Installation:
This zip archive includes the following
files:
- PktFolio.SIS
- Changes.txt
- ReadMe.txt
-
PC_bar.SIS
Major changes from previous versions are summarized in
Changes.txt.
The file PC_bar.SIS is normally not needed. It is already
included in
PktFolio.SIS. However, depending on the PC system you are using,
you
may be asked to install it separately. In this case, use is in
the
same way as you did with PktFolio.SIS.
The installation file for
the programme is PktFolio.SIS.
There are two ways of using a **.SIS
installation file:
- from a PC (if PsiWin 2.x or later is installed),
double-click
on the file **.SIS (this can be done from the WinZip
window,
even without unzipping the **.SIS file)
- from the Epoc
machine itself (if there is an Add/Remove icon
in the Control panel):
copy the **.SIS file anywhere on your
Epoc machine and double-tap
it.
The advantage of the first method is that it requires the
minimum
number of actions from the user. The disadvantage is that it
stops
all running applications on the Epoc machine before installing
the
new files.
The advantage of the second method is that it does not
close all
applications on the Epoc machine. The disadvantage is that it
requires
unzipping the **.SIS file and copying it to the Epoc machine...
Startup:
After a correct installation, you should have the
following files
in the following folders on your
machine:
\System\Apps\PktFolio\PktFolio.aif
\System\Apps\PktFolio\PktFolio.app
\System\Apps\PktFolio\PktFolio.hlp
\System\Apps\PktFolio\PorfOnce.opo
\System\Opx\GPrinter.opx
\System\Opx\SysRAM1.opx
\System\Opx\Dbutils.opx
\system\Opx\PktFolio.opx
\system\Opx\PktFolio.rsc
\system\Opx\Kylom.mbm
\system\Opx\KylomUtils.opx
\System\Opm\pc_bar.opm
When
the installation is complete, you will find a "Pkt Folio" icon
in the Extras
bar. Tap on it to start Pocket Folio. You will be asked
to name your home
currency. Answer with 3 letters (eg DEM, FRF, USD,
DEK...) and press
Enter.
Press Ctrl+H to open the Help data file, which contains a
very
comprehensive description of the application. Do not hesitate to
enter
any keyword you fancy... To return to the application, press Ctrl+B, if
you want to keep Help running in the background, or Ctrl+E to stop
it.
Note that after the first run of Pocket Folio, the file
PorfOnce.opo
has been automatically deleted, and a new sub-folder has been
created:
\System\Apps\PktFolio\Data\
Currency Calc

useful currency conversion application for most
Epoc
machines:

- Diamond Mako
- GeoFOX One.

application.

versions.
Installation:
To install Currency Calc, double-click on
the file CurrCalc.SIS
on your PC (if PsiWin 2.x or later is installed). Or
double-click
Currcalc.SIS on your Epoc machine (if there is an Add/Remove
icon
in the Control panel).
A database with 66 currencies is proposed
for installation. If
you had already created your own base with a previous
version of
Currency Calc, answer <No> when the question is
asked...
Operation:
Start Currency Calc like any other
application, from the Extras
