PsiCards - The Pack of Cards in your Hand ========================================= Version 1.70.0 - May 2001 from Pocket IQ Introduction ------------ This program, Shareware version 1.70.0 for the Series 5, GeoFox, Osaris, Series 5mx, MC218, Revo, Revo Plus, Diamond Mako, Series 7, NetBook and Crystal communicator format devices** (e.g. Nokia 9210). **Note: The Nokia development kit does not currently support OPL so this version is considered 'Nokia ready' but won't run on it yet. This will be resolved as soon as Nokia issue a development kit that supports OPL. Note: OPL is not currently supported on the Quartz palm size format design. This is designed to be the ultimate card game program for EPOC machines. The Pack Of Cards In Your Hand! What makes it so is its impressive list of features: - Eight card games in one place: Spider, Montana, Solitaire, FreeCell, Pyramid, Armistice, TriPeaks, TwentyOne; - Full colour support for the Series 7, NetBook & Nokia 9210 (see note above); - Full support for the larger Series 7 & NetBook screens; - Full support for the smaller Revo, Diamond Mako, Nokia and Osaris screens; - Full Scroll bar support for when cards do 'off' the bottom of the screen; - Full pen and keyboard control (Keyboard only for Nokia); - Full card animation; - Sound; - Full Game save and load features (Registered users only); - User selectable animation speed and animated dealing (Registered users only); - Switch between Tap and drag card selection modes (Registered users only); - User selectable front screen picture, background colour (ER5 and later) and Card backs; - Instant access to all the card games from the front screen; - High score tables (Registered users only) and game statistics; - The program is still evolving! You can influence the direction the development takes, including what future Card games are supported. Release History --------------- Release 1.70 1) Added the 8th game - TwentyOne. 2) Improvements to the quality of the Revo & Osaris front screen picture. 3) Additional toolbar buttons have een added for Series 7 and NetBook users, providing easier access to the game functions. Release 1.60.5 enhancements to game control, animation, speed when loaded on D: or E: drive and improved card graphics for Revo and Osaris. Changed installation process, redundant graphics now removed on first run. Added Symbian Platform Crystal compatibility (i.e. Nokia 9210). Release 1.60.2 fixed bug on Revo version. Release 1.60 fixed some bugs and improved Game control on Pyramid. Release 1.5 added Armistice game, Osaris compatibility, save and load feature, automated card removal in Solitaire, sound, two more card backs, second title screen graphic and tap selection for card movement. Improved Game control on TriPeaks. Double tap on front screen runs games. Colour graphics only installed on colour machines. Fixed some minor bugs. Release 1.4 corrected icon display on Series 5. Automated installation of correct Graphics during installation. Undo toolbar button now in colour. Updated the card backs. Corrected problem with foreign date formats. Release 1.3 is now fully compatible with the Revo, Series 7 and NetBook. Release 1.2 now handles EPOC32 operating system release 1.0. FreeCell added. Release 1.1 minor update, correcting a few bugs. Release 1.0 first release included: Spider, Montana, Solitaire, Pyramid & TriPeaks. Future Releases --------------- There are no particular order or time scales for future releases but this will give you some idea of what the possibilities are and what might become a reality. - Addition of TwentyOne to the games. - Multiple player statistics records. - Additional card Layouts (any game suggestions will be considered). - The ability to tailor the front screen to give access to your favourite seven card games. - Card games could be modular to allow for reduced main program size and runtime memory usage; ease of distribution and installation of new card layouts. Download Zip File Details ========================= The zip file should contain the following files: READMEpsicards.txt (this file) PsiCards.SIS (installation file for PsiCards) It contains all the necessary files for all versions of the game and requires about 1.3 meg of free space to install, once installed disk space used will vary depending on the machine i.e.(approximately): Revo: 315k Osaris: 297k 5/5mx: 380k Series 7: 475k Crystal: 481k INSTALLATION ------------ To install the program simply double-click PsiCards.sis file to install all the required files. Or use the "Install New Program" option in PSIWIN (EPOC Install). If you have the latest PSIWIN or EPOC Install then everything will happen automatically. If you don't have these then you need to get the installation file SETUP.EXE, which can be downloaded from Pocket IQ's Home Page or from www.psion.com. You can also copy the SIS files directly to your Psion 5, 5mx, Revo, Osaris, GeoFox Series 7, NetBook, Crystal (Communicator format device) or Quartz (palm Format device) and double select them to launch the install program. This will install the program and also install the PIQinfo.SIS file for the essential Pocket IQ common files and the SYSRAM1.SIS file to install the essential system files. The graphics file for either Black & White (Series 5 and 5mx), colour (Series 7, Netbook, Quartz and Crystal devices), Revo or Osaris will be installed, if you wish to use PsiCards on a different machine type you will have to reinstall to get the correct graphics. Please note, that if you try to run the game in a machine that requires different graphics then when you run PsiCards you will see an error message telling you that program files are missing: Please reinstall. RUNNING THE PROGRAM ------------------- Start the program by selecting the 'Extras' from the Application bar and then 'PsiCards'. You are now ready to play! Full On-line help is provided and can be accessed from the Help menu.
