RECBIN Thank you for choosing RecBin. This program is suitable for all versions of the Psion. However, Series 5 Classic users should note that reordering of the auto-text entries is not possible due to the operating system installed on this machine. FUNCTION This program is designed as a type of recycle bin for your Psion. If you use Ctrl-d or 'Delete' to delete a file, the file is lost forever. As a way round this I have developed this program which enables you to delete files (folders are not supported) to a safe area on the internal drive. If at some point you think you have made a mistake then the file can be restored. This exactly mimics the Windows type Recycle Bin. There is also access to the remote link as well as an auto-text function, which allows you to insert commonly used chunks of text. INSTALLATION If you use the .SIS self installation file, installation will be performed automatically. Otherwise, if you chose to install manually you will have to place the files into the folder 'system\apps\RecBin'. The files are: 1. RecBin.app 2. RecBin.aif (If you are installing RecBin for SET UP The following hotkeys have been assigned: Fn-d: DELETE Fn-r: RESTORE Fn-e: EMPTY Fn-l: LINK Fn-g: AUTO-TEXT FUNCTION Depending on which language your operating system is working in, you may need to pick alternative keys. Any key you use must be prefixed with the function key. Trying various combinations may be necessary. RESTORED FILES Restored files can be copied to any folder that you wish. DELETED FILE LOCATION The recycle bin can be found in the 'system' folder. If you delete a file from a compact flash (e.g. D or E) then the recycle bin will be located on that compact flash in the 'system' folder. This is to conserve memory on the internal C-drive. WARNING - PLEASE READ If you do not close the dialog in 'Restore' files or 'Empty Bin' then you will return to your original screen. Recycle bin will have moved to the background but still remains active. RECYCLE BIN WILL NOT WORK UNTIL YOU FINISH/CLOSE THE DIALOG. To get the unclosed dialog screen back up again select the RecBin icon from the extras bar, then use 'Esc' or pick an option to finish the dialog.
