PageNumber Dial Text Messages as Numbers V2.1 For Psion Series 5 and 3a By Steve Beadle steve_beadle@iee.org http://www.biblet.freeserve.co.uk What does it do? Presents a simple dialog box for you to enter a message. This gets converted into a sequence of numbers (5 numbers for 3 letters) which you can then use via a touch-tone phone to send a pager or SMS message without speaking to an operator. The numbers are grouped into 5s for easy entry. When you re-enter the number sequence into the lower part of the dialog box they will get converted back into the original message. PageNumber can dial the number for you (saves typing the numbers for a long message!) It can also dial your service number before your message and the message terminator (e.g. '#'). When PageNumber starts up you can enter these numbers into a dialog box - the numbers will then be saved for next time. Don't forget to add enough commas to the end of the prefix. The following characters are supported: (space) * + , - . / : ? @ 0 to 9 A to Z (The characters for an email address or hyperlink are included!) Installation Series 5: Run the SIS file provided. An icon will then appear on the extras bar. (If upgrading from the previous version of PageNumber, please delete the existing files first). Series 3a: Copy the file PAGENUM.OPO to your \OPO folder. Run the program under the OPL 'speech bubble'. How to use it Send: Type the string into the upper portion and then press Tab. Receive: Type the sequence of numbers (with or without spaces) into the lower portion and press Enter. A maximum of 48 letters can be entered. The DTMF dialling feature is not too reliable - it seems to depend on the 'phone and the distance to the mouthpiece. You will need to experiment a little. No responsibility will be taken for misdialled numbers! Copyright This program has been written and is owned by Steve Beadle. It may be distributed freely as long as it is not altered or sold.
